TOTAL CRIME VOLUME IN THE COUNTRY OCCURRED IN NCR.
/QCPD CONTRIBUTED /29.1% OR 40, 999 OF THE TOTAL CRIME

VOLUMES IN NCR IN THE YEAR 2017, /5, 742 ARE INDEX CRIMES
WHILE 35, 257 ARE NON-INDEX CRIMES. SOME OF THE NON-
INDEX CRIMES ARE POLICE INITIATED THRU/ ENFORCEMENT OF
SPECIAL LAWS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF CITY ORDINANCE.
ALTHOUGH THE CRIME HAVE GONE DOWN TO ITS LOWEST,
QCPD BELIEVE THAT THROUGH EFFECTIVE ENFORCEMENT OF
ENHANCE MANAGING POLICE OPERATION (EMPO) WE WILL BE
ABLE TO REDUCE THIS FARTHER/.

(SLIDE 6) SECOND, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF TECHNOLOGY IN


COMMISSION OF CRIME, VERY FEW WOULD HAVE PREDICTED
THE SEISMIC IMPACT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ON CRIME.
/MODERN TECHNOLOGY IS ALMOST INSEPERABLE FROM OUR
DAILY LIVES, HOWEVER CRIMINAL OFTEN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
VULNERABILITY IN CYBER TECHNOLOGY, / SOME OF WHICH ARE
ONLINE BLACK MAILING, ONLINE SOCIAL NETWORKING TRAPS
AND ONLINE BUSINESS FRAUD. WHILE USING COMPUTERS AND
SMARTPHONE AS THE MEDIUM, TECHNOLOGY CRIME IS NOT

THAT MUCH DIFFERENT FROM TRADITIONAL CRIME AS MUCH AS
THE CRIMINALS USED INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TO ADVANCE
THEIR ILLEGAL ACTS. TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE /QCPD INITIATED
THE FIRST ANTI CYBERCRIME TEAM ACT), AIMED TO COMBAT
AND INTENSIFY THE CRACKDOWN OF CRIMINAL USING
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. /
