First of all I wish world quality day to everyone, I am here to talk on quality and employee

contribution towards quality.

From past 6 months I am part of Axiscades, our company has its quality policy that says, We
deliver customer delight with SPEED i.e …………

To achieve its quality policy for any org, individual contribution is required by understanding
their own responsibilities and spending every day of work as we do for world quality day.

Coming to significance of quality, conventionally quality is defined as conformance to the

specifications i.e more often than not interpreted as customer’s needs, Juran observed that
"quality is fitness for use." The ASQC defined quality as" the totality of features and
characteristics of a product or service that bear on its ability to satisfy given needs."

From this we can say that quality not only helps in achieving customer satisfaction but also
helps in creating repution and popularity of an enterprise in the market.

Such as w.edwards deming and his 14 principles, Juran and his pareto principle and trilogy
concept, taguchi and his statistic methods , fiegenbaum and his concept of total quality
control helped in the development of quality management and assurance, consequences of
this led the enterprises to achieve their customers satisfaction as well as increased
production rate and minimized resource wastage.

Standards like ISO 9000 series and ASI helps in achieving

Employee contribution to quality (why QIP is needed):

Employees play an imp role in achieving and maintainin quality. An important

component Of introducing QIP in any organisation is training, development, and
empowerment of Personnel, as well as ensuring that quality is not only what
employees strive for to make money for shareholders (value creation), but that it
becomes a personal goal to them.
• Focus on the customer.
• Have a strategic approach to improvement.
• Improve continuously.
• Encourage mutual respect and teamwork
• Produce quality work the first time.

Improving Employee contribution to quality: wecan improve the employee contribution to the
quality by forming quality circles, whch comprises representatives from every dept of an enterprise.
These reps strive to achieve and maintain quality at the same time involve members from their
respective department in this process. This can be done by following
Giving employee the responsibility • Training employee to accept responsibility • Communicating and
giving feedback • Giving rewards and recognition

Conclusion: Today the ultimate goal of quality improvement is to design quality into every
product and process and to follow up at every stage from design to final manufacture and
sale. An important element is the extensive and innovative use of statistically designed
experiment.
