Job Title : Security Guard

Reports to : Security Supervisor

Main Purpose of the Job

To patrol and control access to the company premises in order to prevent crime and protect
company properties and ensure lives of employees and visitors are secured.

Principal Job Accountabilities (Key Outputs)

Output 1: Secured Property

Definition: Key points of security concerns and restricted areas are patrolled and guarded and
safety of Board buildings is assured.

Output 2: Screened Vehicles and Visitors

Definition: vehicles and visitors are screened and suspected unlawfully articles or materials
brought into the premises or property are denied access

Output 3: Apprehended Trespassers

Definition: Trespassers and other offenders apprehend and Board property is protected against
undesirables

Output 4: Evacuated Staff

Definition: Staff, clients and property evacuated in case of fire, bomb threats or natural disasters
and lives of staff and clients is protected.

Output 5: Investigations
Definition: Investigations as assigned by superior to facilitate dispensation of cases conducted
and report submitted to superior.

Output 6: Occurrence Records

Definition: Report on daily activities and occurrences of undesirable activities recorded and
reported to superior. .

Output 7: Prepared Reports

Definition: Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports for management information

Job Specification

Education
Grade 12 School Certificate 5 ‘O’ levels

Experience
At least a minimum of one (1) year of previous security guard experience, police officer or military
police officer and practical knowledge in the use of non-lethal security equipment, such as
handcuffs and "pepper spray,"
