SUMMARY

Anang Kartiwa. 2016. Effect of Probiotic EM-4 (Effective Microorganisms)

in Drinking Water to Performance of Broiler. Supervised by Elly
Amalia and Sri Sumarni

This research had been done for 35 days, for 16 th October until 19th

November 2015 in Dusun Babakan RT 02 RW 07 Sukasirnarasa Countryside,

Rancakolang District, Sumedang Regency, West Java.

This research aims to find out the effect of probiotic EM-4 in drinking

water to ration consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain and

ration convertion, as well as the quantity of EM-4 that administrate in drinking

water to yield the best performance of ration consumption, drinking water

consumption, body weight gain, and ration convertion.

The research method was an experiment using Complete Randomized

Design (CRD) with four kinds of treatments of EM-4 administration in drinking

water, consisted of A0 without administration of EM-4, A1 with 0,5 ml EM-4/1

liter water, A2 with 1,0 ml EM-4/1 liter water, A3 with 1,5 ml EM-4/1 liter water.

Each of these treatments was repeated 6 times. Observed variables were consisted

of ration consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain, and ration

convertion. Data were analyzed with the variance, if there is a significantly

different in treatment effect, it will be followed by Duncan’s Multiple Test Area.

The result of this research came to the following conclusions :
1. The quantity of EM-4 administration in drinking water had no effect to

performance of ration consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight

gain, and ration convertion in broiler.

2. Administration of EM-4 had no significantly different value of ration

consumption, drinking water consumption, body weight gain, and ration

convertion in broiler.
