INDUSTRIAL VISIT REPORT ON

AKSHAYA PATRA FOUNDATION

Department of Mechanical Engineering, New Horizon College of
Engineering organised an Industrial Visit to AKSHAYA PATRA FOUNDATION
@ Rajajinagar, Bangalore dated on 3rd April 2019. It is one of the World's
Largest NGO which Run Mid-Day Meal Program Serving Wholesome School
Lunch to Over 1.76 Million Children in 15,024 Schools Across 12 States in
India.

The students of 6th Semester “A” Section students were taken for the visit.
The kitchen is almost atomized having less human intervention in the
centralized cooking process. Each school has a representative who provides
information about the number of students attending the next day school
and that information will be fed to the software. Accordingly the mid-day
meals will be prepared and distributed in their custom made thermal
insulated vans.

Tonnes of vegetables are used in everyday meals to prepare nutritious food

for children. Refrigeration unit is used to store vegetables till the next day.
