Ogden Fun Days kicks o today

The Annual Ogden Fun Days is scheduled to kick off at noon on Thursday, June
27.

The annual community celebration will last through Saturday evening with a
variety events planned over the course of the next three days.

Things really kicks off Thursday night with a carnival that should take place all
three days of the event and there will also be a drive in movie starting at 9:00 pm
at the Ogden High School.

Friday should feature a variety of different activities for kids including the
carnival or face painting. There will also be a car show on Main Street and
Anthony Koester will be performing at the local park as well.

Saturday morning will feature the annual 5K put on by the Ogden Cross Country
Team as well as the annual parade on Main Street.

Saturday will also have a Bags Tournament at the Entertainment Garden. The
band Exit 185 will be playing in the evening to wrap up the fun days.

Andrew Pierce, the Ogden Fun Days Co-Chair, helped plan the community
event.

“I’ve been in charge of it the last four years and been involved with it for eight
years now,” said Pierce. “The community usually likes it, a good event for kids to
have some activities and it brings the community together.”

According to Pierce, the Ogden Fun Days started back in the 1930s.

“Started as a way to have, kind of back in the depression era, a free way or low
cost entertainment option for the community,” said Pierce. “It just kind of
continued ever since as a kind of community celebration in a way.”

Pierce said there are a variety of things to do for everyone of all ages.

location changes.
