Appendix 2 Specification of Serial Input

1. Kind and Purpose

CMZ700 can receive some datas from other equipments for speed err correction, heading back up, and watching heading deviation.
Kinds of the datas are as below.
-Ship’s speed
-Ship’s latitude
-Ship’s heading
Each datas are used for following purposes.

Automatic Speed Err correction ・Ship’s speed
(Note 3) ・Ship’s latitude (Note 2)
Back-up Gyro heading ・Ship’s heading (Note 1)
Watching Heading deviation ・Ship’s heading
Note 1) Back up Gyro heading is to output all signal for all receivers by External heading sensor.
Note 2) For Speed err correction, Ship’s speed data must be conncted to CMZ700. Latitude is required for Full-automatic Speed err correction.
CMZ700 can calculate estimated Latitude from own heading and speed data. In case Latitude data is provided to CMZ700, it is used for
Speed err correction instead of an estimated Latitude. When Latitude information was lost, alarm will sound and CMZ700 will start calculating
an estimated Latitude from own heading and speed data.
Note 3) Details of Speed err correction are described in Appendix of instruction manual.
2. Assignment
CMZ700 has three input ports and following datas can be connected at the same time as below.
-Three Ship’s heading datas
-One Speed data
-One Latitude data

Heading data can be assigned on Input ports. Input format can be set for each three Input ports separately one by one. One of the Input

Heading data from GPS can be used on CMZ700 but the data should be by heading sensor like “GPS Compas”, not by Course data based on
continuous position. If customer requests to use Course data based on continuous position for External heading, following must be noted by
the customer.
-The data is not actual heading and has delay from actual heading.
-The data will not be stable when speed to move is in slow, also at stop moving.
-Auto steering will not be available by the data.
While the data is selected by External sensor, Deviation alarm should be cancelled to prevent frequently alarm.
5. Details of Format in “Already”

In case sentence in “Already” was selected, Talker ID + Data ID and location of data in the sentence (number of cummas before the data) are
programedin software. It is not needed tto set all the items such as Talker ID. Detail of the sentences programmed are shown below.
Note 1) Details will not be mentioned for VSD and HRC as they are for only YDK receivers.

Appendix 3 Specification of Serial Output

This Appendix will show specification of Serial Output on CMZ700 Gyrocompass system. CMZ700 means below systems.
-CMZ700B with C. Operation unit
-CMZ700S
-CMZ700D
Note) Output setting on CMZ700B without C. Ope. Unit will not be shown in this Appendix as they are different from CMZ700S/D.
1. Kind and Purpose

CMZ700 can send data complied with IEC61162-1 to receivers. Kind of data is as below.
-True Heading
-Rate of Turn (ROT)
Note 1) ROT data can not be output on factory setting.
Note 2) Output data on “EXT” is selected can be provided separately.
2. Default settings and Purpose

CMZ700 has three output ports and sentences to be output from the ports can be set by key operation separately. Following diagram is
showing default setting. If there was no request for output sentences, system will be delivered at default setting.
2.1 Output port 1

Default setting
・GYRO is selected : $HEHRC
・EXT is selected : $HCHRC
Purpose
Normally, this output port is used for YDK autopilot.
Note) Do not connect other equipment to this output port if YDK autopilot is installed and connected to CMZ700.
2.2 Output port 2
Default setting
・GYRO is selected : $HEHRC
・EXT is selected : $HCHRC
Purpose
Normally, this output port is used for YDK digital indicators.
2.3 Output port 3
Default setting
・GYRO is selected : $HEHDT
・EXT is selected : No output
Purpose
This output port is used for receiver manufactured by other maker.

3. Format in “Already”
CMZ700 has several sentences can be selected which are complied with IEC61162-1 and YDK original format.
Format settings can be completed by selecting sentences in “Already” instead of settings for all necessary items.
