Digital Counsellor Platform

Guidebook for Mentee


(School Counsellors)
The User Interface

Mentees can use the platform to carry out the following actions
1. Find mentors (industry/university) and create mentorship sessions
2. Carry out video calls
3. Create and join events
4. Participate in online discussions
5. Access online resources.
Complete this checklist to explore the
features of the MDEC Digital Counsellor Platform.

1 - Signup to your Platform

● You need to accept our invitation and define a password to login.


● Please contact the admin, if you haven’t received any emails.
● Admin Contact Details:

2 - Login to your Platform

3 - Fill up your profile details

3.1 Accessing your Profile Page :


● Click on “Profile Settings” icon on the top right
● Click on “Edit Profile” button
● Upload Profile Photo and fill up your profile details

4 - Carrying out Mentorships

4.1 Booking a Mentor :

● Click on the “Browse Mentors” link to the top right


● Click on Mentor’s names to view profile then > “Connect with …” button
● Fill up Booking Details then click “Book” button
● Review the Booking Request information then click “Got It” button
4.2 Carrying out an online video session (Must be at time and date booked) :

● Bring your cursor over mentorship tab then > click “Appointments”

● Click “Join Session Room” button on the upcoming booking


● Click on the green “I’m ready to chat” button
● Video room starts once you and the mentor have clicked on the “Ready” button
4.3 Rating your mentor :

● Bring your cursor over mentorship tab then > click “Appointments”
● Click on the three dots ( ⁝ ) for the recently completed session

● Click on the “Complete ✔” button to start rating


● Fill up the details then > click “Submit” button
5 - Events

5.1 Join an event :


● Click on the “events” bar
● Click on “View details” button at the right
5.2 Join an event :
● Select how many tickets to reserve
● Click on “Purchase Ticket” button to acquire tickets after filling up information
requested by organiser

Note:
1. Purchase button is used to register for participation, and not necessarily for payment,
unless price is stated.
2. For tickets with stated price, see 6.3 for how to purchase ticket
5.3 Purchasing ticket if there is a price :
● After clicking on “Purchase Tickets” button, you will be taken to the Billplz page to make
payment for the ticket
● Payment will go to FUTURE LABORATORY SDN BHD first and will be forwarded to the
Event Organiser after a certain period of time
5.4 Creating an event (require permission and approval from admin) :
● Bring your cursor over the “events” bar then click on “Events Management
● Click on “New Event” button
● You will be prompted to specify event details including available tickets and data to
collect from attendee
● Click “Publish Event” button then wait for admin to approve event to be published to
platform
6 - Accessing Resources

● Click on the “Resources” tab


● Click the “View” button on the resource you want to access
● Click on the “Download” button to save the file
