We are beginning our unit on Place Value. This is one of the most important units we will study,
as most of our math topics build on this topic! We hope this Study Guide will help you
understand what we are learning in class. We also want this to serve as a tool to help your child
with math at home.

Math Standards:
1. Read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded
form. (MGSE2.NBT.3)
Example: 52
2. Compare two three-digit numbers based on meanings of the hundreds, tens, and ones
digits, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons. (MGSE2.NBT.4)
3. Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds,tens, and ones - 2
digits will only be covered for this test. (MGSE2.NBT.1 )
