PART – 1

Hello,
My name is Avinash Topno. I am a student of IIM Raipur batch of 2018-20.
Aditya Birla Group has been the leading industries, founded in 1987 by Seth
Shiv Narayan Birla, has been changing lives since then. With its headquarters in
Worli, Mumbai, India, it has operations around 35 countries and employees of
around 120000 worldwide. We can see ABG all around us, be it infrastructure,
communication, services, apparels and many more.
Aditya Birla has done a lot of changes in our lives and that they hold a big
position in our lives. All the biggest infrastructures built have used Ultratech
Cement, a product of ABG. Even the houses where we live has been using it.
How it has changed the people’s dreams into reality of having a house. Now
with this aspect now everyone can dream of having a “home”.
After India got independence the only communication to the loved ones was
only through letters. Idea was one of the initial telecom companies to bridge
that gap. It made a lot easier to connect with dear ones and has changed the
world since then as its tagline says, “……….jo badal de apki duniya”.
Also in the Apparel or Textile Industry ABG has brands like Pantaloons and
Planet Fashion who has the largest variety of brands ranging from domestic to
international brands. Both the outlets do offer apparels for every segment
from kids wear to menswear to womenswear. It has changed our way of
shopping which used to be going from shops to shops. Now we have different
brands to choose from under one roof.
ABG has been changing our lives in various more aspects and will continue
changing it in the future and it will continue to be around us.

PART 2
Two years ago I had an ambition which I desperately wanted to achieve
because it had started to feel that my graduation degree is not going to take
me anywhere and will be a lost identity in this over-competitive world. The
ambition was to reach into an IIM and to complete MBA. But coming from a
family where nobody was much aware of the MBA courses and to convince
them was much of a challenge as nobody was seeing the results or I should say
the perks of doing an MBA course. Having a responsibility as an elder brother
was also important. My brother was pursuing his coaching from Hyderabad
and my father was not able to travel regularly to go and see for my brother
well-being due to his official works. As I had completed my graduation I took
the decision of going and doing my preparation for the CAT. Getting situated at
a new place that too also a new environment was also a big challenge for me,
leave aside the preparation challenge. Amidst all these I didn’t forget my goal. I
thought of putting all my efforts to achieve my ambitions. I carried all my
responsibilities towards my family and did all was expected from me as a son
or an elder brother. Also I did carry out my studies which were essential to
crack the CAT exam. Also few times I got distracted and felt low, but I didn’t
lose hope. At last overcoming all the challenges that life put on me, I cleared
CAT and right now I am studying in one of the most prestigious and top
B-Schools in India.
