Key Takeaways

 The LRMDS functional structure will help us determine the value of each core processes
that involves LRMDS.
 The bigger umbrella is the LRMDS where each of these 4 core processes are seated.

Each of these contributes to the LRMDS’ main objective, which is to provide increase access
and distribution of quality learning, teaching and professional development resources.

1. First core process - assessment and evaluation of LR needs –

-where we quality-assure LRs, TMs and PDMs against standards and specifications
-where we quality-assure LRs, TMs and PDMs using QA tools
-where we identify and classify resources according to format, etc.

Key Question: Are we just to create any resources and make it available to the portal?
The answer is NO. Creation of LR should always be made in response to specific LR/TR
or PDM resource needs that have been identified via the SIP/AIP thru DEPD/REDP
processes.

The Assessment and Evaluation System is for identification of materials to be

procured, redeveloped or reproduced, designed to support schools, divisions, regions and
central office:
 in identifying learning, teaching and professional development resource needs
 reviewing and recommending resources for acquisition and procurement
 identifying existing resources for reproduction and or redevelopment
 evaluating teacher developed materials for local use and shared distribution via
LRMDS
2. The LRMDS Development and Production System – this is designed to support local
production and development of resources that have been identified in the assessment and
evaluation process.
1. Acquisition of LRs are being done when identified LR needs are not available
within the designated local area.
2. reviewing and recommending resources for acquisition and procurement
3. It is only here in the Storage and Maintenance System where LR Portal comes into
picture. This is the Process where identified resources that were developed, modified and
digitized in the previous process can now be catalogued in the LR portal. This also serves
rd
as a venue to facilitate 3 level of quality assurance for the resource. Finally, it is also in
this process where catalogued resources are being maintained.
4. And for the last core process – Publication and Delivery, where cataloged resources
undergo final level of review before being published online for public access. It is in this
stage where search and different browse view facilities supports intuitive and easy access
to the resources that were published.
