The objective of I.R.D.P. is to enable identified rural poor families to cross


the poverty line by providing productive assets and inputs to the target
groups. The assets which could be in primary, secondary or tertiary sector
are provided through financial assistance in the form of subsidy by the Govt.
and term credit advanced by financial institutions.

SGSY

The SGSY(Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana) aims at providing self-


employment to villagers through the establishment of self-help groups. Activity clusters
are established based on the aptitude and skill of the people which are nurtured to their
maximum potential. Funds are provided by NGOs, banks and financial institutions.

MNREGA

It aims to enhance livelihood security in rural areas by providing at least 100 days of
wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult members
volunteer to do unskilled manual work

Pmgy
Housing is a basic requirement for human well-being. Not only do all citizens need shelter, they
also require in their houses such facilities as drinking water and proper sanitation. It is towards
this end that a new initiative has recently been announced, as part of the Pradhan Mantri
Gramodaya Yojana (PMGY), in the field of provision of rural shelter, which is focused to extend
benefits to the rural poor.
