My Philosophy of Education as a Secondary

School Teacher

I believe…
 Learning needs to be fun;
 Education helps in the development of a student’s mind;
 Every child is naturally born with special skills, and interest that are given by God;
 Every individual is unique and learns differently.
 Students are equipped with strong will inside them but still aspire for some sort
of motivation;
 Teachers help the learners to acquire knowledge, competence and virtue.
Teachers are transmitter of knowledge and learners are passive learners who
acquire.
I believe…
 Learners should be thoroughly taught about fundamental skills;
 The child must have the confidence that they will succeed;
 Through cooperative learning, students can learn from each other and learn to
work together. Students retain information better when it gives interest and
relates to them;
 Teachers should teach among the students’ traditional moral values. In teaching
values, students will be able to know themselves and express creatively; and
 Should be empowered to be a responsible and self-directed individual who
respects all those around them.
I believe…
 Schools must be a place of an environment conducive to learning;
 Each learner must be challenged to reach the fullest of his/her potential;
 It is important to teach in a way that employs a variety of teaching strategies;
 Providing opportunities for their individual growth through learning by
experience or doing;
 Reaching out to all my students without bias and prejudice towards the “least” of
the students;
 Having kind words of praise, encouragement, and appreciation for their good
deeds which will then boost their self-confidence and self- motivation; and
 Showing my sincere concern for their welfare, knowing that my care would
develop an impact among their self-control and self- discipline as they tend to be
more responsible for their own behavior.
