Semi-detailed Lesson in Science for Grade IV

I. Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of the lesson the learner will be able to:

a. identify the parts of the plants and its function;


b. value the importance of the plants in our environment; and
c. draw a plant and label its part.
II. Subject Matter

Topic: Parts of the Plants

III. Instructional Materials

Materials: cellphone, cartolina, pentelpen

IV. Procedure

A. Introduction

 The teacher begins the class with greetings, prayer, checking of


attendance and playing a plant part a song. After playing the song
the teacher asks the following questions:

-Do you like the song?

-Is the song makes you feel alive?

-What do you think is the lesson for today?


B. Interaction

 The teacher discusses the lesson of the day which is the parts of
the plants. The teacher will elaborate one by one the different
parts of the plants and its function. The teacher will ask the
following questions:

-Do you think plants provide our daily needs?

-What is/are the importance of the plants in our environment?

C. Integration

 The teacher will group the pupils into two, and let them answer
the activity which is display on the board. Each group will choose
four representatives to answer each activity. Activity 1 will assign
to the first group, and activity 2 will assign to the second group.
Write your answer on the board. Each activity serves for five
minutes only. The group who can answer first will be the winner.

IV. Evaluation

 The teacher will let the pupils draw a plant and label its parts. It
is good for ten minutes only

V. Assignment

 Direction: create a model plants using recycled materials and


present in the class west meeting

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:

a. learn to identify context clues;


b. appreciate the important of context clues;
c. Use sentence and word context to find the meaning of unknown words.
II. Subject Matter

Topic: Vocabulary Enhancement

Materials: Powerpoint, projector, laptop

III. Procedure

A. Review

Ask the class about the previous lesson

What they learn in previous lesson

Ask the students if they really understand the lesson past


lesson?
B. Motivation

Introduce the game ‘’Guess the Word’’ game giving by sample

Play the ‘’Guess the Word ‘’ game.

Let the learners guess the word

Ask someone from the class to guess the word.

C. Activities

Divide the class into two groups

Each group will follow the instruction given in the activity.

The teacher will check the work each group.

D. Abstraction

Proceed the next lesson which is Vocabulary Enhancement.

Ask the learners about their ideas in Vocabulary Enhancement.

Introduce the meaning of Vocabulary Enhancement.

Introduce the Vocabulary Context or Context Clues.

Discuss the context clues and its type.

E. Application

The teacher let the students read the questions the screen and
let them answer each number.
IV. Assessment

The learners will answer the given statement by finding the


words using vocabulary context.

V. Assignment

Direction: Give an example for each type of context clues.

 Recording the word.


 Giving its antonym.
 Giving details about it.
 Giving its synonym.
