INSTITUTIONALIZATION OF NEW RESEARCH PROCEDURES AND FEES IN LINE WITH THE

UNIVERSITY’S THRUST FOR RESEARCH MENTORING PROGRAM

WHEREAS, Research, Thesis and or Feasibility studies form part of the requirements for all
undergraduate programs in the University;

WHEREAS, the current practice in the conduct of research/thesis/feasibility studies is that students do on
their own from proposal up to final defense. And that the students also have the treatment of data,
editing of paper and the like by individuals, both outside and inside the university. Eventually, Defense
of the paper is processed by the Research Instructor;

WHEREAS, the institutionalization of better research procedures is a felt need;

WHEREAS, specific guidelines relative to this policy is hereby attached;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that:

1. Research Mentoring be implemented this Short Term 2019 wherein, every group of students
doing research/thesis/feasibility studies will be assigned an adviser. The Adviser shall be
approved in consultation with the Dean. All Advisers shall undergo training before being
assigned;
2. Statistical Treatment, Language Editing and Plagiarism Check shall be institutionalized through
the Research and Development Center. The latter shall ensure that the said processes are
implemented properly;
3. To be able to carry out this Research Mentoring Program, corresponding fees shall be collected
from students, the schedule shall be as follows:

P1, 000.00 per head for a group research of 3-5 students

P2, 000.00 for individual research

The above amount shall cover the following:

Adviser’s Fee - P600
Statistician - P500
Language Editor - P300
Panel Member - P300 for each 3 panel members
Plagiarism Check - P200
