INTRODUCTION

 AMUL is established on Dec 14, 1946.


 Founded by Verghese Kurien and Tribhuvandas Kishaibhai
Patel.
 Anand Milk Union Limited is the full form of AMUL.
 AMUL is a Co-operative diary society started at Anand city
in Kaira district of Gujarat, India.
 R.S is the current CEO of AMUL.
 250 litres of milk were collected every day in the initial
stage.
 Now AMUL collects 8.4 million litres of milk per day.

STRUCTURE OF AMUL

Amul has 2.79 million farmers covering an


area of 13000 villages co-operative societies
and 13 district co-operative milk producer
union and 1 mother diary.

Amul has a 3-tier system:


1. Village dairy co-operative society.
2. District dairy co-operative society.
3. State dairy co-operative.
POLICIES OF AMUL

 ISO policy

The District Village Societies with excess milk after


local sales join forces to create a District Milk Union.
The Milk Union's primary tasks are as follows:
• Procurement of dairy from the District Village
Dairy Societies
• Arrangement of transportation of raw milk from
the VDCS to the Milk Union.

 Environmental policy

For the present and future of their company and


community as a whole, they at AMUL will make a
deliberate effort to prevent environmental pollution
as guided by a strategic plan.

They will strive to meet the requirements and


expectations of their customers and both external
and internal stakeholders by considering their
appropriate problems as well as the applicable
environmental legislation.

 Food and safety policy


AMUL is a company which is dedicated to
manufacture safe and wholesome food
products to withstand its position as the
market leader without compromising customer
safety and taking their stand on the customer
expectations and meeting it. Improvising on
the quality of raw milk, bringing new
technology for manufacturing products in an
innovative way. improvement of quality and
food safety issues.

PITCH A PLAN

 Setting up processing unit in the backwards areas so that the


employment opportunities is increased for the people in that
area.
 Educating employees and giving proper training makes them
more efficient.
 Improving the quality of the product and making it available to
the all areas will increase the sales of the company.
 Conducting frequent promotional campaigns and
advertisements will attract the consumers.
 Fuller utilization of resources and reducing the cost of
production will result in the maximization of profit.
