Cancer campaign nears end
The number of people diagnosed with cancer is increasing every
year says the Fiji Cancer Society CEO Belinda Chan.
While speaking to the local media recently, Ms Chan said the
yearly increase was noted through the number of patients who reg-
ister with them every year.
“It is because of such increases, we need to be prepared well so
that every patient who is known to us receives the best care and sup-
port from the society and the ministry respectively,” Ms Chan said.
She said initiatives such as the Bushells Fiji’s Biggest Morning
Tea (BFBMT) campaign plays a crucial role in cancer awareness,
advocacy and patient care.
“We are now in the final month of the initiative and business
houses who are yet to host their respective morning tea event can
do so by getting in touch with us to make that little difference in the
battle against cancer.”
The campaign which runs from June to September every year is
a partnership between Motibhai Group and the Fiji Cancer Society. Breast cancer survivor Saimoni Tuilaucala, centre, is
