The title of the book that I am about to review is of ‘I love you since 1892’.

It’s written by a famous

writer Ms Mia Alfonso A.K.A Binibining Mia. This story is categorized as historical fiction. Its first
hardbound was released in 2017 and gaining popularity until the present year because of its great
content. The story is about a Filipino lady named Carmela Isabella from 2016 and her journey to the
Philippine Spanish Time, 1892.

It’s purpose is to give people a bit of a background about the things that happened in the 19th century. A
historical fiction that tells an epic adventure of a modern girl who was brought back in time, to
experience an old fashioned life and love in 1892. Her task is to change the epic fate of Carmelita
Montecarlos who is her 4th generation grandmother in her mother side and Juanito Alfonso. They both
fell in love which leads Juanito to death. Carmelita had a diary with a note written in the cover, “Ang
pag-iibigan natin ay muling isusulat sa araw ng ikaapat na pagkakaktaon” this is the only thing that
Carmela had with her throughout the rollercoaster ride of happenings. She struggled to act like how
women in the 19th behave and as Carmelita because she came from the modern world Carmela and but
then she eventually managed as time passed. She must must not fall in love with Juanito but she did.
She found out many revelations she never imagined, in the end she managed to fight what the real
Carmelita did in the past and even if it breaks her heart she did what she must do and she accomplished
her task.

For me this book is really amazing, it’s not just for teenagers, because I know the oldies can also relate
and I’m sure they will also love it. The plot twists are very spectacular and I really love the theme.
Though it’s kind of tragic but it still has a happy ending. The concept of this story is what I really adore
because it’s not a cliché it’s very unique and very classic. This is one of the best I will dare to say, the
scenes, the languages used, everything is incredible. It’s not just any other stories that tells about love,
sacrifices and such, it will tell you a lot more, this book will exceed your expectations. You will be
amazed from it’s unpredictable scenes and this story will leave you a very big effect about the history,
and tradition in the Philippines when it was colonized by Spaniards and everything. This story makes me
feel like I’m the character and makes me imagine vividly the scenes and it feels so real every time I read
this.

Overall, I will really recommend this to everyone, this story is perfect especially to those who likes
history based fictions. You’ll surely get a hangover about it. Students will benefit this because of the
historical concepts and little infos about with it and the oldies will also adore this because it will bring
the memories of their past. I’m looking forward for another historical story from the same author love
lots.
