Background: Nutrition helps students to attain their goals good food helps us be the best.
Some researches examine nutrition impacts on student’s academic achievements .The purpose of
this study is to examine relation between nutrition and students academic achievements and
examine does food insecurity impacts on academic perfomance.

Statement of the Problem: Q1. How nutrition relate to the students academic
achievements?
Q2. Does food insecurity impact overall academic performance?

Purpose of the study: This study is important because, it examine the relation
between nutrition and students academic achievements,with the aim to determine food insecurity
impact overall academic performance and suggest solutions to minimize consequences caused
by.

Objectives: How nutrition positively impact on student’s academic achievements. Is it


really boost their cognitive level. Find a healthy diet plan or healthy eating plate which is fruitful
to attain goals ,boost cognitive level and examine impact of food in-security.

Operational Definitions:
1. Healthy Eating Plate:
The healthy eating plate encourages consumes to choose fish, poultry , beans or nuts ,
protein sources that contain other healthful nutrients.
2. Nutrition:
Is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in
relation to maintenance , growth ,reproduction , health and disease of an organisms. It includes
food intake ,absorption ,assimilation , biosynthesis , catabolism.
3. Academic Achievements : The ability to attain success in school . For the purpose of this case
study we will use grade point average as the measurement of academic achievement.
4. Food Insecurity :Being without reliable access to an adequate quantity of affordable nutritious
food.
5. Variable : An element , feature or factor that is liable to vary or change.

Research questions:
Q1. When you are deciding what to eat or buy for lunch , how important is health and nutrition when you
choose your foods?
Q2. Do you think it is important to choose healthy food?
Q3. What you think quality of food have any importance?
Q4. Did you have anything to eat before coming to school ?
Q5. Do you think nutritional , quality of diet is really important of student’s academic achievement ?

Hypothesis: This statement show expected relationship between nutrition and academic
achievements and predict food insecurity impact on academic performance of students.

Significance: Good school nutrition helps us be the best .Food heals us , energizes us , and
brings us together through social and cultural bonds , Let food be they medicine and medicine be the
food. Nutritional deficiencies in zinc ,B vitamins ,Omega 3 fatty acids and protein have been shown to
affect the cognitive development of children .There is also evidence to suggest that diets with high
amounts impact of trans and saturated fats can have a negative impact on cognition .This will harm the
ability for school success . This excerpt comes from the article How Nutrition Affects Your Brain written
by Monica Reingal. She advices us to consider just now much of a nutritional power plant the brain really
is :Of all the energy it takes to power your body’s many functions and activitist , your brain sucks-up
about 20% B vitamins and iron are critical for the cellular energy metabolism that keeps the lights on up
here .In other words ,healthy brain function and development require overall good nutrition .Conversely ,
serious nutrient deficiencies can definitely impair your cognitive abilities .Proper school nutrition isn’t a
short term goal of better grades and paying attention in class .It’s about encouraging kids in adopting and
living a healthy lifestyle and mindset .Nutrition improve students academic performance such as;

 Improve alertness
 Quicker reaction time (cognitive processing)
 Better short-and long-term memory
 Improved concentration
 Significant decrease in age-related cognitive degeneration
 Mood stability
 Heightened overall sense of well being
 Higher energy levels
 Improved nutrient absorption
 Better functioning of internal organs
The uneven distribution of food is a major problem for the entire human population because,it threatens
food security. Food security is when a person is able to obtain a sufficient amount of healthy food on a
day-to-day basis. People who do not consume enough food each day suffer from food insecurity.

Methodology:
 STUDY DESIGN:
This study is qualitative in nature
 SETTING:
Opinion will be collected from grade 7th and 8th students of BL-9 Dastagir Society

 DURATION OF STUDY:
During semester spring (2019)

 SAMPLE SIZE:
The sample size approximately more than 80 students

 SAMPLING TECHNIQUE:
Purposive sampling will be employed

 SAMPLE SELECTION:
Students of grade 7th and 8th students will be inducted in the study

 DATA COLLECTION INSTRUMENT:


Researcher select Questionnaire survey method. The researcher intends to collect data
with help of questionnaire (open ended questions)
