1. Give a short definition of certification and licensing.

 Certification is a process administered by a profession or organization that one
undertakes voluntarily to prove competency in a set of skills.
 Licensing is a process generally administered by the state that professionals must
undertake to prove that they can practice their profession in a way that is ethical and safe
to the public.

2. Give other IT certifying agencies/companies.

 Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP)
 Associate Computing Professional (ACP)
 Certified Computing Professional (CCP)
 American Society for Quality Control (ASQC)

3. Does a company need licensed IT Professionals?

 Yes in the way to certify their profession and also to make sure they are prepared in that
certain work.
 Also No, because there are certain situation that can acceptable in other matter.

4. Do we have to ‘blow the whistle’?

 The harm … to the public is serious and considerable.
 The engineers (or employees) have made their concerns known to their superiors.
 Unsatisfactory replies … all channels exhausted
 Documented impartial and correct evidence
 Making the information public will prevent serious harm

5. What are the responsibilities of IT Professionals?

 Move away from individual to collective perceptions of accountability
 Bring in formal analysis, meaningful quality assurance and built-in redundancy
 Think of moral responsibility as collective
