ARGUMENTS

FIRST PARAGRAPH
S1: First sentence must be wider in scope and must talk about S3 of the introduction part.
S2: It is the support sentence that redefines the first sentence while sticking on essay topic.
S3: Third sentence gives one example that elaborates the second sentence.
S4: This is the closing sentence for this paragraph.

Example: Vegetarianism is more ethical than eating meat because it does not harm animals.
Clearly, harming animals causes suffering, which is unethical. For example: millions of chickens
are killed (slaughtered) each day for human consumption. Vegetarians do not participate in the
killing of animals, which is much more ethical practice than eating meat.
Example: At some point in the near future, artificial intelligence will supersede human
intelligence and outperform us on every possible task. Machine are becoming increasingly
intelligent at an extremely rapid pace. Every few years, for example, computer capacity doubles
in power. As a result of this exponential growth, there is no reason why computers won’t ultimately
replace human in all jobs.

SECOND PARAGRAPH [Start either with ‘Similarly’ or ‘In contrast’]

S1: First sentence must be wider in scope and must talk about S3 of the introduction part.
S2: It is the support sentence that redefines the first sentence while sticking on essay topic.
S3: Third sentence gives one example that elaborates the second sentence.
S4: This is the closing sentence for this paragraph.

Example: Vegetarianism is also much more ethical than eating meat because its impact on the
environment is far less. Growing vegetables is good for the environment, whereas farming animals
impacts the environment. Beef cattle, for instance, destroy top soil and damage the atmosphere.
Vegetarianism is a more ethical practice because it does not harm the natural world.
Example: Despite the inevitability of human labor replacement, some people do not think that
computers will ever reach certain levels of intellect and consciousness to rival humans in some
jobs. These people are unware at the rate at which computers are becoming intelligent. It is just a
matter of time before computers can program themselves. Even the most complex human jobs
such as medicine and education will be mechanized.
CONCLUSION

S1: It starts with “This essay discussed…”

Briefly mention argument 1 and 2.
S2: It begins with “In my opinion…”
Rewrite 3rd sentence of introduction.

Example: This essay discussed how vegetarian eating practice not only lessens animal harming
but also prevents damaging the environment. In my opinion, vegetarianism is a far more ethical
practice than eating meat.

Example: This essay discussed how artificial intelligence is rapidly taking over the human
workforce. In my opinion, it is only the matter of time before robots completely replace all human
jobs no matter the skills or sophistication.
