their school is a brother of a student like Ishaan. Ishaan can’t read and write the letters well for he said that

the letters are dancing. He also had difficulties in solving simple math problems. Ishaan was great in

paintings but no one had ever appreciated it even his parents. Having a lot of failed exams, the school

Ishaan’s parents force him to transfer in a boarding school to learn discipline. In such a young age, Ishaan

should enjoy life being a child rather than doing the things that would statisfy the standards of his parents.

Studying in its new school, Ishaan felt the same treatment he experienced in his old school. A lot of teachers

complain because of the behavior and failures of the child. Being far away from his parents Ishaan in such

a young age experienced depression. He lost his interest to his passion and he lost his self.

things. Nikumbh saw his self in Ishaan that is why he helped Ishaan in its situation. Through patience and

perseverance Ishaan learned how to read and write letters because of Nikumbh.
Nikumbh asks the school principal if they could have a painting competition that is open for

all like students and teachers. A lot of students and teachers had join the competition, but suddenly there is

only one boy Nikumbh would like to see. When the competition has started he looked everywhere to see

Ishaan. Afterwards, Ishaan walked down in the middle and then Nikumbh walked towards him to give him

the canvas and coloring materials that he would be needing but suddenly Ishaan used the coloring materials

that his brother had given to him. A few minutes later, the principal started to announce who won the

competition, then he said that it was a tie between a student and a teacher and whoever wins the competition

would be the cover of the school’s yearbook. Then they said that they would give way to the student more

rather than to the teacher. Nikumbh claps his hands when he heard it for he already knew who would be the

winner of the competition. Then the principal announced that the winner was an eight-year-old boy named

Ishaan Awasthi. Everyone stands on their feet and claps their hands for Ishaan. At first Ishaan was a little

bit shy for he’s not use to it but later on, he walks towards the stage and receives the award that he had won.

Ishaan’s parents saw the school’s yearbook, on the back on the cover page was an art work of Ishaan’s face

by Nikumbh and on the front of the cover was the artwork made by Ishaan himself. Everyone in the school

had been proud to Ishaan especially its teachers. When Ishaan’s parents saw it they cried out for joy and

hugged Nikumbh for they don’t know how to thank him for the things he had done for their son. Nikumbh

CHARACTER ARC

1. Growth Arc

 For an eight-year-old boy, Ishaan lived eventhough he is far away from his family.

2. Change Arc

 Ishaan being one of the joyous child that has a wonderful imagination and a lot of dreams that

became cold, sad and depressed.

 Ishaan learned to read and write letters because of Nikumbh.

3. Rise/Fall Arc

 Ishaan fall from the time when he was drowning in his failures in school and when he

experienced depression and lost itself because he was far away from his family.

 Ishaan rises when Nikumbh help him to bring its old self back and shows its hidden talent in

painting to other people.

4. Goal

 To bring back the old Ishaan back.

 To help Ishaan learn to read and write letters.

 To make its parents realize that they are lucky to have a wonderful and talented son like

Ishaan.
 To make people realize that each child has its own abilities.

5. Lie

 It was Yohan who wrote the absent letter for Ishaan

6. Truth

 That Ishaan don't fail a lot of exam because he has behavioral problems but because he has

dyslexia, a disorder that experience difficulty in reading and writing.

 Ishaan’s parents are lucky to have a wonderful son like him.

 Nikumbh also experienced dyslexia in his childhood days.

Here are the following questions besides you using the arc:

1.) What was the character/s state at the beginning of the story?

Ishaan was a very wonderful and jolly boy, he appreciates everything around him even fishes

and dogs. He failed a lot of exams because he is having difficulties in reading and writing letters. He

was a very talented boy but no peeple apppreciates it.

2.) What was the biggest dilemma encountered?

The biggest dilemma was when Ishaan’s parents was force him to study in a boarding school

because their son was about to failed his 2nd year in 3rd grade in its former school. For them it's the only

best way that they can do for their son. Ishaan was far away from its parents that is why he experienced

depression, lost interest in his passion, and especially he lost his self.

3.) If you were the main character how will you try to solve the problem/s?

If I were the main character, I would tell my family specifically my parents the things that I’d

been experiencing that I’ve been having difficulties in reading and writing letters that’s why I failed a lot
of exams not because I’m a dumb or lazy student. In such a young age, lossing myself would make situation

even harder so as the main character did I will cooperate to what Nikumbh is trying to do to me for I know

that he is a good man and he knows what I’m experiencing for he had been in the same situation in his

chilhood days.

4.) In what aspect of life can you connect the situation your character was in?

In my life I felt the same feeling like Ishaan’s, my sister was good in all subjects and my

brother was good in Science and math while I may not be good in any subjects in school but in terms of

sports, I’m greater than them. Me being the smallest in our family have been a varsity player in badminton,

volleyball and Lawn tennis. I may not have medals to take home but I do have happiness and smiles to offer

my family. According to Albert Einstein, “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to

climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid”. Every people has its own strength, abilities

and weaknesses. Some can be good in Acads and some can be good in sports, we all have different ways to

be great and can’t force us to be something we aren’t.

5.) If you will write the ending of the story how will it end?

If I will write the ending of the story; after 25 years Ishaan receives an award for being one of

the known painter/artist in the country. He also became an achiever just like his brother Yohan. He searches

everywhere in the country to thank Nikumbh for everything that he did and would like to honor the trophy

to him. After searching and searching he finally found Nikumbh. He gave the trophy and had a little chit

chat with him. He told him that he owns a school for the children that are experiencing dyslexia and was

name after him, TGRSN University that stands for “The Great Ram Shankar Nikumbh University”.

Nikumbh smiled at Ishaan and said, “I know you’ll do great”. Ishaan gave Nikumbh a hug and said, “I

wouldn’t have done all of these because you, Thank you!”. The End.
