Summarize of the Film.
Ishaan Awasthi is an 8-years-old boy filled with joy and imagination.
Ishaan cannot cope his academic demand in school. He even finds it hard
to read because the letter are moving and dancing. He also can’t write
correctly, and his letter and numbers are sometimes inverted. His parents
decided to move him to a boarding school that will teach him better and
far away home. While Ishaan is in the boarding school he face depression
that his parents didn’t know. Out of the blue, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, a
new teacher and practicing teaching. He set his students on hype to
encourage them to use their imagination.
He notice Ishaan and his difficulties. He discovered Ishaan’s
mistakes are because that he had dyslexia, a disorder that involves
difficulty in learning to read or interpret words, letters, and symbols, but
that do not affect his general intelligence. Nikumbh reminisced his past as
he also hast the same problem as Ishaan before. He decided to help Ishaan.
While observing Ishaan, Nikumbh noticed Ishaan’s talent in art. Nikumbh
came to visit Ishaan’s family and explained the Ishaan’s problem why he
is different. His father was ashamed not knowing his son’s potential.
Nikumbh approach the school’s principal to have an event of painting to
show the school that Ishaan is not what they seem to think he is. On
the event, Ishaan is faced off with different artist in school including
his very own mentor, Nikmubh. When the decision came to who won
the eyes and hearts of the judges. He is tied with his teacher Nikumbh,
but only one should be the winner. And that someone is no other than
Ishaan himself. He won over his very own mentor which made him,
Nikumbh, and his family very happy and proud. Ishaan’s victory
helps him find himself which made him a better person in school,
family, and community. His grades became higher, and personality
improved and made him avery smart and happy child. The movie tells
us that children are like stars on earth; they are all special in their own
ways.
Reaction Paper to the film “Every Child is Special.”

Every Child Is Special made me cry. And yes, I’m a guy but I
cried. Who wouldn’t cry? It’s one of the most inspiring and touching
movies of all time. It’s one of those movies that just won’t be
forgotten easily even I watched this film two times; a movie that will
be etched in a viewer’s mind, and a movie that surely will impart
lessons about life, parenting, and teaching.

In this film we can see Ishaan the kid who had dyslexia. He
grew up like an ordinary kid and seem to have a happy childhood.
Later, when he was in grade school, he seems to find reading difficult.
The letters dangle and dance as he reads. But the teacher did not
understand his condition instead they tag him as lazy, idiot, dumb, etc.
He got failing grades and was advised to be transferred to a boarding
school. There he had an arts teacher who saw something special in
Ishaan. The teacher investigated his behavior, his works and even his
background and was the first person to understand Ishaan's condition.
He did not only helped Ishaan in his reading but also, he developed
Ishaan's talent in painting. Ishaan joined the painting contest in his
school, and he came out victory. Everyone was surprised and amazed
about Ishaan's hidden talent.

The movie teaches us not to judge someone directly based on

what can only see. In the scene when Ishaan asked by his teacher in
boarding school to explain the poem after his classmates read the
poem; Ishaan said “what we see, what we feel is and what we don’t
see, we feel isn’t. but sometimes what we see actually isn’t. and what
we don’t see actually is. What I mean-” It's a bit messy when Ishaan
said these words but if we think carefully Ishaan want to say
“whatever we see in other people we don't feel it”, like Ishaan the
people around him don't feel what he feels and how much he is
struggling.
Every Child is Special. Every child has its own personality.
Every child tries to endeavor and focus best in its life. Primarily,
every child has its own dreams. But the main factor to ponder is, for
us to understand his/her dreams. And the truth is, we lack stability,
patience, and understanding as far as the child is concern.

In this movie made me realized that intelligence is not based on

being able to read and write and you can't say someone is dull if they
can't read and write. There was no in-between, no label for those who
had a hard time reading simply because what they saw when they try
to read were different from what normal people see. Another lesson
that the movie made me realize was about parenting, about how
parents should love their children equally, how they should accept
them whatever conditions come with them when they were born and
whoever they turn out to be. Parents should love their child even more
when they realize that he did not turn out to be the child they wanted
to have.

Life is beautiful but not always easy it has problems; each of us

face different problems in our life – serious problem to deal with.
Some people defeated by their own problems, while others find way
to overcome their problems. Difficulties test the courage, patience,
perseverance, and true character of a human being. Adversity and
hardship make a person strong and ready to face challenges. There is
no doubt that there can be no gain without pain.
