EVERY CHILD IS SPECIAL: MOVIE REVIEW

Every child is special is a movie about a young boy named Ishaan who had suffered from a
mental disorder called dyslexia that cannot learn anything or cannot seem to understand anything
because of his sickness that one time, a new art teacher came along and understands what Ishaan has
and taught him and let him face his hidden talents.

The story is all about an eight year old boy who named Ishaan who always fails in class. He fails
not because he studies but because he finds hard to read or write and don’t easily understands
everything and there was one time he fail again and his parents sent him in a boarding school. He
became anxious and angry at his family for sending him in a boarding school, which he taught sending in
a boarding school is a punishment. Even his love for painting is gone but there comes a new art teacher,
temporary teacher. He is Ram Shankar Nikumbh and he encourages them to use their imagination.

That’s when he noticed Ishaan and his difficulties and he discovered that Ishaan’s mistakes are
because that he has dyslexia which is a disorder that involves difficulty in learning to read or interpret
words, letters, and other symbols. Nikumbh reminisced his past as he also has the same problem as
Ishaan before and that’s when he decided to help the kid. He even noticed the great arts Ishaan made
and he starts to teach him and they had a great bond together.

Ram held a painting competition for everyone but it is also for Ishaan, to prove to them that he
is indeed special. Just then, Ishaan won and through the help of his mentor, Ram, he got higher grades
and improves his personality.

The actors’ acting is so nice. The actors’ fits the role and that is all we want to watch, full of
passion in the story and an actors’ expression through the story. When the role of Ishaan when he was
depressed far from his parents and also his mentor.

The movie Every Child is Special is produced and even directed by Aamir Khan, who is the
mentor, Ram in the movie. He made and produced the story or movie because he believes that each one
of us, as a child is special and it is based on reality. Also when he used the animations and music, he
succeeded in attracting the interest of the audience.

When we look and understand the movie, there is a great purpose and message to the film that
will literally makes the audience relate. Every Child is Special seemed like a film suited only for children
but the film is also suitable and recommended to adults because it doesn’t only tackle a disorder called
dyslexia but it also shows some common issues in the family like problems we have as a family, bullying,
mistakes and hardships in school and the stigma of children with special needs.
 The film is an opener with respect to people who has and suffers dyslexia and certain social
issues influencing it. This film caused me to understand that every single kid is surely extraordinary and
critical.
