Introduction

A. Summary
….Ishaan Awasthi, an eight year old kid filled with joy and imagination is having a hard
time with his life. His parents are more focused in Ishaan’s brother who is much
smarter. They just doesn’t seem to appreciate Ishhan’s talent in creativity and art.
Ishaan is also having a hard time in coping up in school, he just can’t even read nor
write. The letters he sees are moving and when he writes, his letters and numbers are
sometimes inverted. Because of his difficulties in school and family, he became
depressed and confused. His parents then decided to move him to a new school that
will teach him better and far away from home, which, they did not know that will make
Ishaan more depressed. Ishaan is having a hard time coping and adjusting and his only
stress reliever is through painting. Out of the blue, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, a new art
teacher came to the scene that defies traditionally practiced teaching. He set his
students on hype fire encouraging them to use their imagination. He noticed Ishaan and
his difficulties. He discovered that Ishaan’s mistakes are because that he has dyslexia,
a disorder that involves difficulty in learning to read or interpret words, letters, and other
symbols, but that do not affect general intelligence. Nikumbh reminisced his past as he
also has the same problem as Ishaan before. He decided to help the kid. While
observing Ishaan, Nikumbh noticed the kid’s talent in art. He realized the kid’s
potential. Nikumbh came to visit Ishaan’s family and explained to them the kid’s problem
why he is different. His parents were ashamed of themselves not knowing their son’s
potential. Nikumbh Helped the kid read and write properly. they made a great bond
together Nikumbh approached the school’s principal to have an event of painting to
show the school that Ishaan is not what they seem to think he is. On the event, Ishaan
is faced off with different artist in school including his very own mentor, Nikumbh. When
the decision came to who won the eyes and hearts of the judges. He is tied with his
teacher Nikumbh, but only one should be the winner. And that someone is no other than
Ishaan himself. He won over his very own mentor which made him, Nikumbh, and his
family very happy and proud. Ishaan’s victory helps him find himself which made him a
better person in school, family and community. His grades became higher and
personality improved and made him a very smart and happy child. The movie tells us
that children are like stars on earth, they are all special in their own ways.
B. Background Details

…•Every Child Is Special is directed by these two people which is Aamir Khan and
Amole Gupte. Aamir Khan and Amole Gupte also is the one who made the story of
“Every Child Is Special” or aka the Author. This great movie was held/acted in Mumbai
and Panchgani’s in New Era High School. This Movie is based on true story that has
been copied from the book ‘Thank You Mr. Falker’ by Patricia Polacco. This is an
autobiographical account of her struggle with dyslexia and how she was helped by her
teacher. Every Child Is Special casts are: Aamir Khan (Ram Shankar Nikumbh)
Ishaan’s Art Teacher, Darsheel Safary played the role of (Ishaan Awasthi), Tisca
Chopra (Maya Awasthi) Ishaan’s Mother, Sachet Engineer (Yohan Awasthi) Ishaan’s
elder brother, Vipin Sharma (Nandikshore Awasthi) Ishaan’s strict father, Bugs
Bhargava (Sen Sir) and Shankar Sachdev (Tiwari), respectively. Teachers at New Era
High School whose attitudes changed towards Ishaan when he is already accumulating
high grades.

II. Body
A. Elements of a good movie
1. Cinematography
I’m quite a bit fascinated in the first glimpse of the movie on, how they make the
cartooned animations in the first minutes of the movie. The theme of the movie was a
good for the kids and even adults, the cinematic events are underrated on how they
took videos like birds’ eye, and also the animation of Ishaan’s imagining.
Its downside was the quality of the movie like it is not that high quality, and I can’t barely
see the detail of the movie and sometimes the camera angle was not that good.

2. Music Score
• The way they sing are good and very sensation, you wouldn’t know you are vibing with
the character’, who’s singing and dancing. It is very rhythm and good combination with
the cast like Aamir Khan was a famous bolly wood actor, he was a sensation across
Asia or world because of his acting skills and singing voice. Some songs are bad, I feel
like irritated, but some song’s they play or sing are good and meaningful, because I see
the lyrics in subtitles.
III. Conclusion

…1. Overall Judgement

• I’m not satisfied enough for the story of the film, there’s a missing piece to be greater
movie or film, it’s just I can’t say it. The plot of the movie was great and the singing,
dancing. The cinematography was quite good and the places wherein the scenes are
being acted, the animation of Ishaan’s imagination, and how the cast played the role
Ishaan’s are good, it must be hard for him to act like that. The story was good, it
happens in the real world not just in the films.

…2. Suggestion
• I suggest that they improve their lighting of the scene depending on the scene like
when it’s night in the dark it’s obvious to make it or shoot it a little darker but not so dark.
The materials used for the blood, should be more realistic because it looks a little fake,
from the scene he got beaten up and went to the rooftop where he was seen with blood
on his mouth almost reaching his jaw but when the next scene was shown, the blood in
his mouth had disappeared a little as if it had been wiped out but it was not shown in the
scene. They should be aware on these type of small scenes because not only this
scene have these type of mistakes.

3. Recommendation
• The Movie is great so there’s not much to recommend but I recommend that they
adjust their camera placement because sometimes I feel like the camera shouldn’t be
there and could’ve been better if they place it in a better place, I’m not saying that I don’t
like their camera placement, it’s just on some scene it isn’t feel like it should be there.
