PIER DESIGN

Total load = 60 kips

Dia.of pier (B) = 3 ft 36 inch
Length (L) = 12 ft
Ap = π/4*B2 7.07 ft2 1017.36 in2
As = πbl 113.10 ft2

Following results were taken from soil report.

1) Bearing capacity of soil (qP) = 4000 psf
2) Skin friction (fs) = 2500 psf

The pile transfer the load to the soil by two ways :

1) At the base by bearing (qp X Ap) = 28274.33 psf
2) At surrounding by skin friction (fs X As) = 282743.34 psf
3) F.O.S = 3
