1. Focused Research Topic:

We are researching on how the daily routine (sleep cycle and eating pattern) of the

students affect their academics (grades and attendance in different classes) and

other activities in which performance can be measured.

2. Background to the Research:

Our body is runs like a clock and all our basic activities are periodic in nature, from

the time of us closing our eyes to the moment we open them and what is the time at

which we feel hungry, everything is planned by our brain and naturally this fits with

the movement of sun, but sometimes we change this calibration and that can have

various effects on our body both physically and mentally, this includes having mental

issues like fear of missing out and peer pressure and physical problems like gastric

disorders.

3. Research Question:

Given the above context We are asking the following question

How does different biological cycle (sleep cycle and eating pattern) in students of

BITS Goa effects their grades?

4. Textual / Field Research:

We are planning to circulate a Google Form which will have about five questions and

then we will analyze the response and reach a conclusion .

5. Significance:

We think this question is important because we want our readers to understand that

having a proper overall biological clock can have a major positive impact on their

lives and this research can help educational institutions form better timetable for

students so that the students can work with maximum efficiency and have a

healthier lifestyle. This research also leaves the door open for further research on

different fields like why students of current time prefer to sleep late and how this is

leading us towards a world that is always awake.
