MUMMER'S GROUP - VODENICHANE

The village of Vodenichane is a village with deep traditions. Traditions that the
inhabitants of the village keep today. As early as 1959, the first mummer group was
formed. It includes both young men from the village as well as women and children.
The first bells ring for the eviction of evil forces.
Over the years the custom of "Kukerovden" has gained increasing popularity.
The group recreates the custom of plowing and seeding the levels of fertility. The
main actors are the bride and the groom, the pope, the doctor, the bear and the healer,
the policeman.

The leader and organizer of the group is the Mayor of the village of Vodenichane -
Milen Angelov.
