The school provides full secondary vocational
education completed by the school-leaving
examination. We have a 124-year history in
economic education - currently in the fields:
OA, OA-bilingual and bank worker
COMMUNICATION
English is a problem for Colombian
people as they don’t learn it in school,
they start to speak and learn Spanish
first.
We hired a professional Spanish
interpreter to translate for them
the whole trip. They offered to
volunteer for us.
PROBLEMS
01 RACISM

SOMEBODY MIGHT GET

02 LOST

03 DISEASES
RACISM
- they’ll have to ignore racist Slovak’s
- be proud, not afraid
- talk about the action, not person

Racial discrimination is not always intended, which makes it

worse, because the person discriminating against you probably doesn’t
even know that they are treating you differently than they would
treat others.
People in Slovakia are not used to foreigners of
different race, religion or culture so they might be
staring at them, even though they aren’t racist
SOMEBODY MIGHT
GET LOST
We would provide our visitors with our old cell
phones including cheap SIM card (4€) with loaded
credit for calls and messages in case of emergency

They would call the interpreter, which would

deliver the message to us or to emergency
services.
DISEASES
They could bring some diseases from their
country, and they also could catch some of our
diseases.
There’s also possibility they would have to go to
quarantine or get vaccinated for COVID-19

In the worst case they could bring

some new mutation of Coronavirus
BUDGET
Total budget: 11000€
7000€ raised on gofund.me
by people all around the
word
4000€ sponsored by Markíza (TV),
because this will appear as show on
TV
Unused money will be donated to dog
shelter
BENEFITS
FOR US
would definitely be learning about their culture and way of living.
As well as learning about the difficult life of being a refugee and
pass on this information of their struggles to educate other people,
good feeling
FOR REFUGEES
will be seeing a different culture and the way of living without
constant fear. Trying out new food, seeing our beautiful nature. And
also filling their purpose of applying for asylum in Slovakia.
