The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is one of the most famous Greek myths.It is a myth that shows love
and passion, and weaknesses of the human spirit.
- Orpheus and Eurydice met and got married. It was like a love at first sight.
- Hymen, the god of marriage, is at the wedding ceremony. Wasn't happy at all.
- On the same night of the wedding, Eurydice was bitten by a snake and dies.
- Orpheus travelled to the Underworld to bring her back to life in one condition by Hades and
Persephone. Eurydice must walk behind him as they go back to the upper world, and Orpheus is must
not look at her.
- When they reached the exit, Orpheus is overcome with passion, he turns to look at Eurydice and she is
immediately sent back to the Underworld – forever.
