BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Listening is one of the skills that need to be nurtured and developed but it is mostly
taken for granted. That's why many problems are not given proper solutions. People easily
jump into conclusions without analyzing and giving a critical look to such problems. It should
be a process of receiving, constructing meaning from, and responding to spoken and or non-
verbal messages.
As you go with this lesson, you have to employ analytical listening in order to solve the
given problems.

WHAT IS ANALYTICAL LISTENING?

 It is the ability and capacity to analyze what is being said through audio productions
where the meaning is interpreted.
 It is not just about understanding but being able to look for a deeper meaning of what

2
is heard.
 It is also one of the foundations of good decision making.
When someone listens thoroughly and analytically it will be easier to understand a
situation and come up with a solution rationally.
 Through analytical listening, one can come up with a better prediction of the problem
and which solution or method would be best.

How are you going to use analytical listening in problem-solving?

An analytical listener can critically look at a problem. By distinguishing main

problems from partial problems. He/she can collect information and make logical
connections and think of fitting solutions.

Let this chart help you to analyze and to solve your problem.

WE HEAL AS ONE
Composed by Ryan Cayabyab
Sung by various Singers

Sa wari mo’y nag-iisa Together we are being called

Lahat kanya-kanya To make a future world
Ngunit di man nagsasama The test we face is for us to prove
Kaya pang magkaisa That we can heal as one
Isa sa pag-iingat We heal as one with kindness
Isa sa ‘ting dasal We heal as one
Lahing nagpapatunay We serve, we share, we show compassion
Na tayo’y makatao pa We heal as one
Together we are being called Sa wari mo’y nag-iisa
To make a future world But when we heal, we heal
The test we face is for us to prove We heal as one
That we can heal as one
We heal as one with kindness We heal as one with kindness
We heal as one We heal as one
We serve, we share, we show compassion We serve, we share, we show compassion
We heal as one We heal as one
Sa wari mo’y nag-iisa Sa wari mo’y nag-iisa
But when we heal, we heal But when we heal, we heal
We heal as one Yes we heal as one
Isa sa pag-iingat Yes we heal as one
Isa sa ‘ting dasal We heal as one
Lahing nagpapatunay We heal as one
Na tayo’y makatao pa

DepEd prepares alternative learning programs for August opening of grade schools,
high schools

The Department of Education (DepEd) on Monday assured that it will comply with the
directive of President Duterte to postpone holding of face-to-face classes until a vaccine or
cure for COVID-19 is found and assured that the agency continues to prepare for the formal
school opening set in August.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones, in a statement, thanked President Duterte for

reiterating the national government’s “willingness to assist us in our endeavor to offer
alternatives to face-to-face learning despite the public health situation.”

From the Central Office down to the school level, Briones said that DepEd “fully engaged in
readying our operations” based on its Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP).
“We are updating our policies, realigning our finances, and collaborating with our partners so
that our goals of providing quality education and protecting the safety and health of our
constituents will be achieved,” she explained.

Since June 1, Briones said that has been conducting a remote enrollment nationwide in
order to assess learners’ household information which will be “crucial in the preparation and
the contextualization of the learning delivery mode in each locality.”

“Enrollment will be voluntary, and we will respect the decision of parents if, despite being
offered blended/distance learning, they still decide not to enroll their students in the coming
school year by reason of COVID-19,” Briones said.

Based on the school calendar issued by DepEd for School Year (SY) 2020-2021, the
opening of classes for the basic education shall be on August 24, 2020 and will end on April
30, 2021. The opening of classes has been delayed due to the public health situation in the
country.

For those who will allow their children to continue their education, Briones said that the
DepEd Central Office provides the framework, menu of options, and resource support. “
