(a) The L1-3 mission objective is to provide multispectral- visible and
infrared-wavelength images of all land and near-coastal areas on Earth. Natural Mapping. 3D Modelling, Natural resources management, Risk management (a). Monitor clouds and to measure the thermal emission of the Earth (b). Particularly relevant to study climate change and environmental degradation (c). AVHRR has five bands in visible, Infrared and Thermal wavelengths.
(a). MOS is the Japanese earth observation satellite, to measure sea
surface temperature (SST) and to measure atmospheric water vapour.
