Math Focus Science Focus

Rounding, place value, and decimals
galore! Fourth graders have been
exploring place value from the billions
to the hundredths places! These past
few weeks we have been working on
adding and subtracting decimal
numbers. I know subtracting across
zeros can be tough! Keep practicing
this at home!
Continue practicing multiplication
facts at home. We will soon be moving
into our unit about multiplying large
numbers and two digit by two-digit
multiplication! It is essential that
students have their multiplication facts
down so that they are successful at
multiplication and division.
These past few weeks we have been
finishing our unit on science safety and
measurement. Now, as expert
scientists, we will been doing all things
hands-on while studying our current
topic, Physical Properties of Matter.
Check out LivingTree for some pictures
of your students in the lab! Also, if
students are asking to watch science
videos at home that they have
previewed in class, those videos are
available under the “STEM” tab on the
fourth grade website.
