giving me opportunity to comment on this issue.

The role of Iyanifa is very paramount in Ifa/Orisa religion. In fact,it can
not be underestimated.
Without Iyanifa,Ifa initiation is not completed because it is the rôle of
Iyanifa to carry Esu Elegbara for Iyawo Ifa to Igbodu.
Iyanifa is an initiated IFA priestess weather young or old,she represent
the mother of the new Iyawo IFA.
Also,it is very essential to feed three heads during initiation-
father,mother and the priest-to-be..Without mother-which Iyanifa
represents you cannot come to the world..
Odu Ogunda-worin says our fathers and mothers are our first gods.
Ifa also says in Obararosun,when the blessings of Orunmila was tied
up in heaven, IFA divination revealed that Orunmila should feed his
mother's Head so that the blessings could be released to him.Ifa made
Orunmila question the Awo that all the blessings could be given to him
by IFA but he was made to realize that the mother owns Ifa'-Meaning
Iya-lo-nifa(IYANIFA)
So,why this controversy?
Without the consent of mother, Orunmila could not get his blessings.
Even in Ogboni,the role of Erelu is important. Apena and Oluwo cannot
do initiation alone.
