Overpopulation of urban areas has led to numerous problems.

Identify one or
two serious ones and suggest ways that governments and individuals can tackle
these problems?

In the contemporary era, many countries of the world facing overpopulation of

major cities; leading to countless problems facing by individuals. In this essay, I
will be addressing two main issues and suggest what the government and an
individual can contribute.

Firstly, overpopulation leads to overcrowding, which in return causes the

environment and economic problems. That means a plethora of vehicles on the
road, making roads jam-packed. Due to this numerous health issues can be
found, making the cities more miserable. Secondly, there are housing problems.
Many people unable to find decent accommodation to live in. This can also lead
to garbage problems, as many cities do not have proper means to handle
rubbish.

Government has the power to solve these problems on a go. They can improve
public transport and build many other roads and flyovers, in order to maintain
clear ways on the road. And also handle the garbage problem by providing litter
vehicle to pick from the appropriate areas. These clearly make the cities clean
and tidy. Finally, to overcome the problem of housing, the government should
start building more infrastructures for people in need.

However, individual also plays a vital role in maintaining their own cities. For
instance, people should start using public transport more frequently, in order to
avoid jam-packed roads. And make the use of dust bins properly. Lastly,
individuals should also start living in sharing accommodation.

In conclusion, it will be an easy task, if both the government and individuals

take their own responsibilities; in order to maintain overpopulated cities.
