HOMEWORK 6A: SOLUTION ESSAY

Nowadays, some people think that life in metropolitan areas is increasingly


challenging. There are several causes for this situation but this can be tackled by
adopting some remedies.

In recent years, people who live in urban areas have been deal with several
challenges in their life. It can not be negated that in urban areas, the pollution
rate is extremely high due to an increasing number of factories and private
vehicles. So that they can suffer some respiratory-related illnesses resulted of the
dangerous of toxic greenhouse gases that are emitted in the air. Moreover,
citizens in big cities also have to challenge with congestion. An explanation of this
is that although the number of cars continuing increase, infrastructure is still
inadequate to response, which may tiring people and lead to time-consuming.
Additionally, high cost of living, for example housing, transport and food cost,
somehow becomes a difficulty for metropolitan people, especially for low-income
ones. In other words, they have to spend a large proportion of their salary on rent
or mortgage, which puts a lot of pressure on them.

There are several ways that the government can do to tackle those problems.
Firstly, they have to relocate factories and launch a publicity campaign in media to
educate citizens about serious effects of pollutions. Secondly, the government
should also raise the tax in private cars to have more money for improving road
system. Finally, the authority should build more social houses and subsidize for
low-income people.

In conclusion, living in metropolitan areas nowadays has become more and more
difficult for citizens. This means that they have to deal with several problems like
pollution, congestion and high cost of living. The government should play the
main role in measuring this issue by raising citizens’ awareness, improving
infrastructure and subsidizing for low-income people.
