The Time Management of Sri Kala Bhairava – Part III

(Before doing the puja we request to view the Videos of Part I & Part II of ‘ The Time
Management of Sri Kala Bhairava’)

Items required for Sri Kala Bhairava Upasana:

1. Photo of Sri Kala Bhairavar & Sri Ganapathi

2. Instead of Sri Ganapathi Picture we can make pyramid Ganapathi using Turmeric
Powder.
3. Turmeric powder
4. Sandalwood powder ( Chandan)
5. Kumkum
6. Vibhuthi ( Holy ash )
7. Sambraani (Dhoop)
8. Incensed Sticks
9. Oil for Lamp ( Mustard Oil is good for Sri Kala Bhairava puja otherwise you can use
Gingle Oil )
10. Sacred Thread ( Poonool) . Otherwise Akshata can be used as a substitute for Poonool.
11. Akshata ( Unbroken rice mixed with turmeric powder and few drops of Ghee )
12. Camphor
13. Wooden plank to sit and do puja
14. Lamp ( 2 Nos)
15. Cotton Wicks (for Lamp ) Minimum 5 numbers
16. Matchbox
17. Copper / Braze cups 2 Nos
18. Panchapatram – 1 No
19. Uddharini – 1 No
20. Copper / braze Plates – 2 Nos
21. Camphor Plate
22. Dhoobhakaal – for Sambranni / Dhoop
23. Aarathi Plate - For showing Deepa
24. Kalash or pot to have pure water for puja use
25. Bell
 26. Vastram – Dress for Sri Kala bhairavar ( If not we can use Akshata as a substitute for
Vastram)
27. Flowers & Garlands ( Red color Flowers are very much suitable for Sri Kala bhairava)
28. Abisheka – Things
a. Ghee
b. Curd
c. Honey
d. Milk
e. Pure water etc.,

As per your ability you can use Abisheka things. Minimum requirement is Pure water.

Whatever Abisheka things we are using to Lord Shiva can be used to Sri Kala Bhairava

If you are having Sri Kala Bhairava Idol you can do abisheka to the Idol. If you are having
picture just you can take the Abisheka things in the Uddarani and touch it with a flower and
sprinkle it on Sri Kala Bhairava. This is enough for Abisheka.

29. Naivedyam – Food preparations & Fruits as per your ability. For example Vada,
Payasam, Fresh Fruits, Dry fruits , Milk, Curd, Honey, Sugar /Jaggery) etc., can be given
to Sri Kala bhairava as Naivedyam.

We have tried to give this puja method in a simplified way so that all devotees can easily do this
puja at their home and get the blessing of Sri Kala Bhairava. The pooja has been divided into
three parts. 1) Upachara pooja 2 ) Sri Kala Bhairava Gayatri Japa & 3) Sri Vatuka Bhairava
Moola Mantra Japa . We wish all our devotees to get the blessings of Sri Kala Bhairava and
attain all good things in their life soon. Normally when we are doing the Kala Bhairava puja in
the night between 9.00 pm to 12.00 am it would give quick result. Please refer our earlier two
parts of videos for further details. Remember : Do the puja as per your ability with possible
things. God will recognize and give his blessings. Believe and proceed.

Arrange puja mandala with Sri Kala bhairava and Sri Ganapathi. Light two Lamps on each side
of Sri Kala Bhairava. Light Incensed sticks. Keep the necessary puja things near to you and start
the puja.

1. Aachamanam :
Intake an uddharini of water 3 times uttering each mantra. The water should be taken in
the right hand palm.
a. Achyutaaya Namaha
b. Anantaaya Namaha
c. Govindaaya Namaha
2. Sri Vinayagar Dhyanam :
With your fists tap on both sides of your temples five times chanting the following
mantra.
Shuklaambaradharam vishnum shashivarnam chaturbhujam |
Prasannavadanam dhyaayaet sarva vignopashaantayae ||

Vakratunda mahaakaaya kotisoorya samaprabha |

Avighnam kuru mae daeva sarva kaaryaeshu sarvadaa ||

3. Sankalpaha :
Take few Akshatas in your right palm and close and keep it on the left palm and place it
over the right thigh and say the mantras.
 Mamopaatta samasta duritakshayadwaaraa shree man Narayana preetyartham /
paramaeshwara preetyartham / kala bhairava preetyartham karishya maanasya karmanaha
nirvighnaena parisamaaptyartham aadow vighnaeshwara poojaam karishyae ||

( The akshatas should be placed north side of the Sri vinayakar )

4. Ghantaa pooja :
Ring the bell and chant the following mantra. This is done with the intention of inviting
the devataas to protect us from any destructive forces doing any obstruction to the pooja

Aagamaartham tu daevaanaam
Gamanaartham tu rakshasaam |
Ghantaaravam karomyadav
Daevataahvaana laanchanam ||
5. Sri Vinayakar Aavahanam :

Take Akshata in your right palm and after reciting the below mantra offer to the Sri
Vinayakar.

Om
Ganaanaam tvaa ganapatigum havaamahae
Kavim kaveenaam upamashra – vastamam |
Jyaeshtha raajam brahmanaam brahmanaspata
Aanaha shrunvan-nootibhisseeda saadanam ||

Yaekadantaaya vidmahae vakratundaaya dheemahi

Tanno dantee prachodayaat ||

Asmin Haridra bimbae (Turmaric Vinayakar) / Asmin Chitra patesmin (Picture) / Asmin
Bimbae (Idol) Sumukam Sri vigneswaram Dhyayami – Aavahayami . ( Offer Akshatas
and Flowers to Sri vinayakar )

Sri Vigneswara Upachara Pooja

6. Om Vigneswaraya Namaha Gandhaam Samarpayaami |

( keep Chandan and kumkum on the turmeric Vinayakar / Picture / Idol)
7. Om Vigneswaraya Namaha Pushpaihi Poojayaami |
(Put flowers on Sri Vinayakar)
8. Om Vigneswaraya Namaha Dhoopamagrapayaami |
(Show lighted incensed sticks / Sambraani)
9. Om Vigneswaraya Namaha Deepam Darshayaami |
 (Show lighted lamp)
10. Om Vigneswaraya Namaha Maha Naivaedyam nivaedayaami |
(Offer Prasad plate ( Banana , coconut etc) before sri Vinayakar and pour one uddarani
water on the cup.)
11. Keep both palms together in Namaskar Mudra and recite the following prarthana mantra.
Agajaanana padmaarkam gajaananam aharnisham |
Anaekadantam bhaktaanaam yaekadantam upaasmahae ||

12. If you are using turmeric Vinayakar then do yathasthanam by reciting this mantra. For
Idol and picture this is not required.
Asmaath haridra bimbaath sumukam Vigneswaram yathaasthanam prathistaapayaami |
(Move the Turmeric Vinayakar slightly towards North direction. This is called
Yathasthanam )
13. Take Vigneswara prasadam (Akshatas & Flowers ) from the feet of Sri Vigneswara and
have it on your head .

Apa Upasprusiya |

Sri Kala Bhairava Pradaana puja

1. Sri Ganapathi Dhyanam :

With your fists tap on both sides of your temples five times chanting the following
mantra.
Shuklaambaradharam vishnum shashivarnam chaturbhujam |
Prasannavadanam dhyaayaet sarva vignopashaantayae ||

2. Pranayaama ( One Time)

(Fold the right hand index finger and the middle finger inside. Press the right nostril with
the thumb and inhale through left nostril and hold the breath inside closing the left nostril
with ring and little fingers and recite the pranaayama mantra once and exhale through
right nostril slowly and again inhale through right nostril in the same position and close it
with thumb and hold the breath and recite the pranaayama mantra once and open the left
nostril and exhale slowly. This is one round of pranayama. Finally using your right hand
ring finger touch the right ear and recite Om Om Om.

Pranayaama mantra :
 Om bhoohu, om bhuvaha, ogumm suvaha, om mahaha, om janaha, om tapaha, ogum
satyam,
Om tatsavitur – varaenyam, bhargo daevasya dheemahi, dhiyo-yonah prachodayaat |
Omaapaha jyotee-rasaha amrutam brahma, bhoorbhuvas-suvarom ||

3. Sri Kala Bhairava puja Sankalpa

Take few Akshatas &flowers in your right palm and close and keep it on the left palm
and place it over the right thigh and say the mantras.

Mamopaatta samasta duritakshayadwaaraa shree kala bhairava preetyartham mama

sahakutumbasya, kshaema-sdhairya, veerya vijaya, aayuraarogya,
aishwaryaabhivruddhyartham, dhanadhaanya shamrudyartham, Dharmaartha , kaama ,
moksha chaturvitha pursartha siddhyartham, janma janmaanthraesu papa dosha
nivruthyartham, samastha duritopa shaantyartham, Aapan nivaranaartham, kasta
nirasanaartham, Apamirthyu nivaaranaartham, manobheesta siddhyartham Sri Kala
Bhairava Devasya poojanam aham karishyae ||

(Now place the akshatas & flowers in the north side of Sri kala bhairava)

4. Sri Kala Bhairava Dhyanam :

Keeping the both palms together in namaskar mudra recite the below mantra with full
concentration.

Om Namo Bhairava roopaaya Bhairavaaya Namo Namaha |

Namo Bhadraswaroopaaya Jagathaathya Namo Namaha ||

Nama Siddhiswaroopaaya siddhidhaaya Namo Namaha |

Namo Binduswaroopaaya Bindusindhu prakaasinae ||

Namo Jayaswaroopaaya Jagaj Jaadya Nivaaranae |

Maha Bhoothaaya Bhoothaaya Bhoothaanaam pathyae Namaha ||

Bhakthapriyaaya Shanthaaya Bhairavaaya Namo Namaha |

Namo Bhathaswaroopaaya Roopathaaya Namo Namaha ||

Namo Vatuka roopaaya Kala Bhairavaaya Namo Namaha |

Vatuka Bhairava Dhyana Slokam :

 Vandae baalam spatika sadrusham kundalod
Bhaasi vaktram divyaa kalpayair navamanimayaihi
Kinkini noopuraadhyaihi deepthaakaaram vishadavadanam
Suprasannam mahaesam hasthaabjaabhyaam
Vatukamanisham sulakadgauv dadhaanam ||

5. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |

Aavahayami ( Offer Akshatas &flowers to Sri Kala Bhairavar)
Rathna simhaasanam Samarpayaami | (Offer Akshatas &flowers to Sri Kala
Bhairavar)
6. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |
Paadyam Samarpayaami | (Pour water in the arghyam cup)
7. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |
Arghyam Samarpayaami | (Pour water in the arghyam cup)
8. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |

Vastram Smarpayaami | ( Offer Vastram to Sri Kala Bhairavar )
If you are not providing Vastram then provide Akshata reciting the following
mantra.

Yagnyopaveetam Smarpayaami ( Offer sacred thread – Poonul )
If you are not providing Yagnyopaveetam then provide Akshata reciting the

Gandhaan (Chandan) Samarpayaami | ( Offer Chandan )

Dhoopam Aaghraapayaami ( show lighted incensed sticks / Sambraanidoopam)

Deepam Darshayaami | ( Show lighted lamp ) Show the deepam to all the people
to take blessings
19. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |
Maha Naivaedyam nivaedayaami | ( offer prasadam plate before Sri Kala bhairava
and show your hands symbolically towards God from Naivaedya plate to accept
the Naivaedyam )

Paaneeyam Samarpayaami | ( Pour water in the arghyam cup)

Karoth vardhanam Smarpayaami | ( Pour water in the arghyam cup)
20. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |
 Karpoora Tamboolam Samarpayaami | (Offer Betel leaves and areca Nuts (Paaku)
in a plate ) ( Pour water on the plate)
21. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |
Karpoora Neeraajanam darshayaami | ( Show Karpoora aarati ) Take a flower and
rotate it clock wise direction on the karpoora aarati plate and put the flower on the
feet of Sri Kaala bhairava. Show the aarati to all the people to take blessings.
22. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |
Mantra puspam Samarpayaami | ( Offer flowers to God)
23. Om vatuka roopaaya kala bhairavaaya Namaha |
Pradakshina Namaskaaraan Samarpayaami | ( In the same place revolve / rotate
three times and do shaastaanga namaskaram before the Kala Bhairava)

Sri Kala Bhairava Gayatri Mantra Japam

Keep your mind calm. Few minutes be watching Lord Kala Bhairava picture and then closing
your eyes start reciting Sri Kala Bhairava gayatri Mantra – 108 times in mind. Be fully
concentrated while doing japa.

If you are not having enough time you can reduce the counting to 54 / 28 times.

Om Kaala Kaalaaya Vidhmahae Kaala Theethaaya Dhimahi |

Tanno Kaala Bhairava Prachodayat ||

 Sri Vatuka Bhairava Moola Mantra Japa

After the Sri Kala Bhairava Gayatri Japa do the very powerful Sri Vatuka Bhairava Moola
mantra japa as per the Japa vidhi. For the proper japa vidhi you may view our video “ Nyasa
Mudara vidhaanam for santhana gopala mantra”.

The japa should be done 108 or 1008 times with full concentration.

Only Mudras are used in the japa. There is no articles used for the japa. Learn thoroughly the
japa vidhi and do the japa.

( Nyasa Mudra – Touching right hand ring finger tip with thumb)

1) Om Asya Sri Aapad Uddhaarana vatuka Bhairava Mantrasya

2) Bruhad Aaranyaka Rishihi | ( Touch your head with Nyasa Mudra)
3) Thrustup Chandhaha | (Touch your lips with Nyasa Mudra )
4) Sri Vatuka Bhairavo Devatha | (Touch your heart ( chest Middle ) with Nyasa Mudra)
5) Hreem Beejam ( Touch your Right shoulder with Nyasa Mudra )
6) Swaha Sakthihi ( Touch your left shoulder with Nyasa Mudra)
7) Bhirava : Keelakam ( Touch your naval with Nyasa Mudra )
Place your left hand palm on right thigh facing upwards and keep the right hand palm facing
down ward on the left hand palm in a crossed manner and recite .

Sankalpam

8) Sri Vatuka Bhairavanaatha preethyarthe Jape Viniyogaha

9) Karan Nisyasa :

Om Hraam Vaam Angustaabhyaam Namaha

Om Hreem Veem Tharjaneebhyaam Namaha

Vam Amruthathmane amrutham Maha Naivedyam Nivedayami |

Sam Sarvathmane Sarvopachara poojaam Samarpayaami |

14) Vatuka Bhairava Mantra :

Om Hreem

Vam Vatukaaya

Aapaduddhaaranam kuru kuru

Vam Vatukaaya

Hreem Om Swaahaa || ( 108 /1008 Times )

 15) After the japa again one more time do only the Hrudayaadi Nyasaha.

Om Hraam Vaam Hrudayaya Namha

Om Hreem Veem Sirasae Swaha
Om Hroom Voom Shikayai Vashat
Om Hraim Vaim Kavachaya Hum
Om Hraum Vom Nethrathrayaya Vaushat
Om Hraha Vaha Astraya phat

Then recite the below mantra and do 8 directions snaps in anti clock wise direction.

16) Bhoorbhuvasuvaromithi Digvimokaha |

17) Again do Dhyana slokam

Vandae baalam spatika sadrusham kundalod

Bhaasi vaktram divyaa kalpayair navamanimayaihi
Kinkini noopuraadhyaihi deepthaakaaram vishadavadanam
Suprasannam mahaesam hasthaabjaabhyaam
Vatukamanisham sulakadgauv dadhaanam ||

18) Again do Pancha upachara pooja |

Lam pruthivyathmane Gandham Samarpayami |

Ham Aakasathmane Puspaihi Poojayami |

Yam Vaaivaathmane Dhoopamaagrapayami |

Ram Agnyaathmane Deepam Darshayaami |

Vam Amruthathmane amrutham Maha Naivedyam Nivedayami |

Sam Sarvathmane Sarvopachara poojaam Samarpayaami |

Finally do Japa samarpanam in the right hand of the Lord kala bhairava reciting the below
mantra.
 19) Japa Samarpanam :

Guhyathi Guhya Gopthathuvam

Gruhaanaasmath krutham japam |

Siddhirbhavathu mae deva

Tuvath prasaadaan mayisthraa ||

After the japa completion. Have one to one conversation with Sri kala Bhairava in silence.
Speak to the God your life’s ups and downs, your Victories and Failures , Your expectations ,
Your sorrows and whatever you wish to share with God and need a solution.

Request Sri Kala Bhairava’s Blessings on all your activities.

Then take Sri Kala Bhairava puja prasada.
