PERFORMANCE TASKS FOR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

FIRST QUARTER:
Performance task 2 - Journal writing (20 pts.)

 Individual performance task for students after the topic, ”Coping with Stress”
 2 pages short bond paper; 1.5 spacing; 1-inch margin on each side
 Tahoma 11
 1- 2 paragraphs for each of the 5 items

1. C – CONTEXT:
Identify and briefly define the specific terms on the topic, “Coping with Stress”
(e.g. - stressor, external stress, internal stress, etc.) that will be most significant for
this journal entry.

2. E – EXPERIENCE:
Narrate a personal experience or learning experience of yours that can be
related to the topic, ”Coping with Stress” (e.g. - maybe a particularly memorable
stressful experience that gave you further insight on this topic).

3. R – REFLECTION:
Present your thoughts on the topic. This may comprise of one (or more) of the
following:
 Important lesson learned from the personal experience or learning
experience narrated above
 Realizations/thoughts you had after the various classroom activities on
this topic
 Any additional personal insights

4. A – ACTION
Identify three ways of coping with stress that you personally find most helpful
in your own life and will most likely to continue to use in the future.

5. E – EVALUATION
Looking back at the lesson, suggest other sources of stress and also other ways
of coping with stress that we have not yet discussed in class.
