About the artist

Born in the neiborghood of Paris in 1943, Gilbert Bonora, the son of an Italian father and a French mother,
has always harboured the twin passions of painting and music.
« Gilbert Bonora’s works are shrouded in an atmosphere of intriging mystery. They are suffused with an
underlying sense of the existence of undisclosed treasures laden with history. Both in his watercolours and
oil paintaings, one can see a solidly constructed reality mixted with imaginary visions, a combination from
which emanates something unreal and quite unwonted that immediately catches the soul of the onlooker. »
