1. How different is Gardner's MI Theory from the traditional concept of intelligence?

Gardner’s MI Theory invalidates the traditional concept of intelligence. There are

other types of intelligences and not just the linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence
in which the IQ test mainly measures.

2. In the light of Gardner's Theory, why does Gardner claim that we have been unfair to
many of our students in the past as far as teaching and testing are concerned?

Gardner believes that teachers cannot asses a student’s performance based on

the standardized tests. These tests don’t cover all the intelligences he discovered. He
believes that everyone has an “intelligence” that varies from the other. However, the other
less common “intelligences” have been relegated in education in favor for the more well-
known ones today (Monte, 2019).

3. What is your realization about this theory? What is the implication of this in your
teaching career?

This theory shows that students all have varying intelligences and not just the
traditional ones. It guides the teachers on making learning interesting and motivating for
the students. As a teacher, I can use this as an assessing tool and guide in order for me
to help my future students reach their full potential in learning.
