CUT IN 1.

SET TODAY – NIGHT – EXTERIOR

A middle-aged woman and her children are playing outside in

the garden at night. They’re chasing each other and laughing,
then their voices fade away as the main protagonist starts to
talk.

MAIN CHARACTER
(VO)
Before the world delved into
chaos, the moon began to glitch.

A couple are led on a rug, star gazing, as the main character

speaks. Their smiles begin to fade as they look at the moon.

MAIN CHARACTER
(VO)
The onlookers on earth gazed up
first with confusion, rubbing
their eyes and wondering if their
eyes were deceiving them.

Cuts back to the family and the children are looking up to the
sky with frowns. They turn to look at their mum and she has
her hand over her mouth, a scared look on her face.

MAIN CHARACTER
(VO)
Soon enough, that confusion turned
to fear, and that fear turned to
terror when the night sky stars
faded to nothing.

Cut to black.

MAIN CHARACTER
(VO)
That’s when the darkness began.

SET TODAY – NIGHT – INTERIOR

The scene opens with a close up of a match being lit and a boy
lights a candle. He slouches on the table and places his head
in his hand.

WOMAN
Sam?

The boy sat at the table stands suddenly, lighting a candle

stick and heading towards the door.

MAIN CHARACTER (SAM)

In here!

A woman appears in the doorway, just in view from the light of

the candle.

WOMAN
Hey.

She kisses his cheek
