General Questions

1. Do you have any experience in Photography and/or Videography?

a. If no, are you willing to learn?
b. If yes, please cite your significant experiences (e.g. DNP pool
volunteer, photoshoots, for leisure, etc) and rate your
proficiency for each on a scale of 1-6 (6 being the highest).

A: Yes, I rate myself as a 3 for photography because I know the basics of photography, but I’ve
never really gone past shooting for fun. Most of the shots I have are of me commuting home
and seeing interesting scenes. I have never tried to actually apply it to org-work so I don’t really
know how good I really am because it would be the first time that I would actually be publishing
the photos that I take.

For Videography I would rate myself a 4 because unlike photography, I had put out some work
for my other orgs in videography and I have received positive feedback regarding it both from
my head and the people who watched the video. I don’t know how to edit but I do know how to
shoot video highlights as I volunteered to shoot video highlights in 2018’s Ignacianidad
Leadership Summit to be added in the event highlight reel.

2. Are you interested in becoming a deputy? (Being a deputy counts as an automatic

project involvement for both seminars.)

A: Yes

3. What are your expectations as a pool member?

A: This would be my first-time being part of any DNP pool in any organization, so I am really
expecting to grow a lot. I’m learning a lot of things as I go, and I would like that Kythe has a
community that would help me be the best photographer/videographer that I can be.

4. For you, what is the importance of taking photos and/or videos to our advocacy?

A: Taking photos and videos are important to our advocacy because it is one of the best ways
to showcase what Kythe is, and by extension our advocacy, to the outside word. Photos and
Videos perfectly captures the effect our visits, our projects, and the whole Child Life Program
has to the kids we interact with. We see their smiles etched into photographs forever, and their
genuine reactions caught in video to be replayed anytime anyone wanted. Personally, seeing
the photos from last year’s events really inspired me to try out again after being rejected in
during my freshman year.

5. Would you rather be able to take only pictures or only videos of your crush?
Why?

A:

Position-Specific Questions:

Position 1: Photographer

1. Do you have any experience in post-processing?

A: I don’t have a lot of experience in /legit/ post-processing like Lightroom for desktop but I use
post-processing apps on my phone with apps like the mobile version of Lightroom and
Snapseed

2. Do you have a favorite picture? Why this particular picture? (You can attach some of
your favorite shots if you’d like. ☺)

A: My favorite shot is the shot on the left of the vendor in the middle of a busy intersection
(don’t mind the sogo sign pls☹ ) I really like it because it was one of the first shots I took that I
was really proud of. I took it while commuting home using my cellphone and I was editing it
during the commute. I was happy with how colors turned out mostly and it really stuck to me
because since then, I’ve made it a habit to take photos while I commute.

I had a hard time choosing between the three honestly, the one on the upper right is a shot I
took while live-tweeting for Vantage Magazine and I when I took time to edit it for fun when I got
home I realized how nice the framing was and how animated(???) the photo was. I also just
really love OrSem so that plaed a part.
