Narrative Report in English Day Celebration on Feb 7-8, 2019
English continues as the major language in communicating ideas and
thoughts on a global scale. Because it has fast become the world’s most widely used and commonly spoken language today, the need to learn English for young children has increased exponentially. With these, Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy- Kitcharao, Inc. has regarded January as the English Month. Since almost every aspect of a student’s life now involves and requires some degree of English knowledge. Various activities were conducted (essay writing, poster making and poem writing) to provide a medium for the acquisition of language as well as the promotion of the development of the whole child. Since we don’t have that enough time to spend the celebration, we still find ways and time to render the short activities. To strengthen parental engagement in establishing positive education and health behaviors among the children and young adolescents, we encourage the parents as to help the educators to train the students about their communication skills. As we are now facing the 21st Century education which the demand of competencies are highly formulated and observed. Homer Simpson said: “English! Who needs that? I’m never going to England.” No, but for many people, English is the language of opportunity! The celebration ends successfully.
