Factors:

 Rains - amount and intensity of


rainfall weakened the structure of the
soil
 Slope – the whole subdivision is
located near a slope making it a
landslide prone area
 Geological Traits – such as the
topography where the subdivision stood
made it vulnerable
Location: Cherry Hills Subdivision in
Antipolo City

2012 Pantukan landslide


Factors:

 Rains – intense consecutive rainfall


crippled the structure of the soil
 Mining – constant mining in the
location have softened the structure of
the soil
 Earthquake – a mild earthquake
occurred which triggered the landslide

 Location: Pantukan, Compostela


Valley

2017 Biliran landslides


Factors:

 Storm – intense rainfall caused by


the storm have decreased the strength
of the soil
 Slope – some parts of the barangay
are located near a slope making it a
landslide prone area
 Mining – open-pit mining in the
location have declined the structure of
the soil
 Drainage System – poorly structured
drainage systems have diminished the
properties of soil
 Location: Barangay Lucsoon, Naval, Biliran
