From August 1 - 8, Fr.

Herald joined his novitiate classmate

H A I T I Fr. Michael Kmiotek, CFR and Br. Malachy Napier, CFR in
accompanying 20 young adults on NYC Frassati
Fellowship's third mission trip to Laderas de Chillon, a very
poor and struggling settlement on the outskirts of Lima,
Peru. We spent a week visiting and praying with families,
celebrating Mass, hearing confessions, anointing the sick
and building a community kitchen for a group of women
who pool their resources in order to feed their families. It
was also an opportunity to spiritually accompany Catholic
young adults during an impactful and grace-filled
experience. The trip to Peru also gave Fr. Herald the
chance to visit families he knew from his time in Honduras.

Fr. Herald joined Charlie Moran and nurse practitioners

and nurses Marianne, Sharon, Mary Lou, Nancy and
Connie in Riviere Froide, Carrefour, Haiti for a medical
mission May 31 - June 8. We stayed in the compound of
the Little Brothers of St. Therese. The trip included two
visits to nearby Alta Vista orphanage (run by the Little
Sisters of St. Therese), a trek to the mountain village of
Beausejour (where FMO has supported the work of the
Brothers and the local parish of St. Gabriel), sorting and
cleaning the "tool room" for the January construction trip,
food distribution to 100 families of blind persons, a visit
to the school run by the brothers and with the orphan
children that Friar Suppliers supports there. Close to 2000
patients were seen that week at the clinic.

Fr. Herald was joined by an international team from Honduras and the USA and a local contingent of Jamaica teachers to
staff a vacation faith day camp for the first time ever at St. Theresa Parish in Annotto Bay. The camp ran Mon - Fri, Aug 12 -
16. Over 100 children ages 6-15 participated. It included morning sessions in the areas of reading, math, faith and Spanish;
and afternoon activities of soccer, volleyball, arts and crafts, and games. We took time to pray and reflect on a different
theme and a different saint each day, and concluded on Friday with a special Mass and gifts for each participant: a New
Testament, a Rosary, a flashlight and a frisbee.
