Infectious syphilis includes the primary, secondary and early latent stages of disease.

Primary and secondary (P&S) stages are reported by CDC. From 2018 cases through year to date 2019,
there is a 15% increase in cases. Last year at this time, there were 83 cases of P&S cases reported
compared to 127 during the same time this year, which is a 53% increase.
