” Human beings draw close to one another by their common nature, but
habits and customs keep them apart.”(Confucius)

Do you agree or disagree to the statement of Confucius? Give concrete

situations to support your stand.

I do agree to the claim of Confucius that.” Human beings draw close to one another by
their common nature, but habits and customs keep them apart”, because in today’s
generation there so many factors that builds a gap between one another. One of these
factors is the growing competition between human beings; we tend to fight for our belief
without considering the opinion or supposition of others. We always fight for what we
believe is right and others must follow our belief. Growing competition across countries
is also another factor which cause miscommunication and tend to develop rampant
global issues. Another factor is the culture, culture in today’s context is different from
the traditional, before culture tend to bind people but nowadays, culture tend to
disintegrate/disunite human beings. Now we only interact to those who have the same
conviction from us, we are not open in accepting others culture and that’s the reason
why habit and customs keep us apart.

INTROSPECTION

This lesson on local and global communication in multicultural settings help me realize
that miscommunication is essential to enhance our ability to communicate and
effectively accept and embrace across country cultures. And it made me realize also the
importance of cross-culture in globalization business opportunities, job opportunities,
sharing of views and ideas, talent improvisation and understanding of diverse market.
Global communication is also necessary because it forms the concept of intercultural
communication which signifies the active relationship established between people
through language. It also weighs the situated communication between individuals or
groups of different linguistic and cultural origins.
