The Nurture Assumptions

According to the book, there are two classical drives in human development which are
nurture and genes. Some Children come into the world already different from one another
because of their genes. The parents treat their children differently because they think and act in
different ways. Genetics leads to different parenting styles. Somebody says that if the parent are
smart their children will also smart. Physical ability of parents can also inherited by their children
through genes. If the parents are excellent in basketball probably their children can inherited their
skills in basketball.
In nurture development, the parents must care and encourage the development of
physical and emotional characteristics of a child. According to family relationship therapist Julia
Armstrong, the first seven years are key times in a person's development as things such as
parents, friendships and schooling all have an impact. Proper caring of a parent to their child is
very important to guide them what is the difference between bad and good. Imagine if the child
missed the proper caring there is possible that the child will have emotional/behavioral problems.
Some parents are not aware of proper caring. It important to the parent to have knowledge on
how care their children in a proper way. They must be attend parenting seminar. Parenting
seminar can give knowledge on how to deal the behavior of a child. It will also give some tips on
the proper communication with children. It sad to say that there are parents who are abuse their
children. They are not aware that simple shout to them can affect their behavior. This attitude of
parents can be adopt by child outside the home. It important to the parents to limit the volume of
their voice when they are talking with their children. They should approach the child in proper
communication whey the child made a mistake. Heavy punishment of parent will bring bad
emotional factors to the child.
Outside environment can affect the growth and emotional development of a child. It is important
to allow your child to have friends outside the home. Allow the child to play with her/his friends.
Let them happy and learn other things from other people to practice their social life. A child’s
goal is not to become a successful adult no more than a prisoner’s goal is to become a
successful guard. A child’s goal is to be a successful child. If the parents did not allow the
children sociable they become lonely until their growth.
