I. Introduction

In the world of business and industry, competition of various brands and companies especially if
having the same products or services line are becoming stronger nowadays. Like what Nabil N. Jamal
said “Competition in business is a blessing, for without it, we wouldn’t be motivated to improve”. That’s
why the said businesses thought of some strategies and techniques that would help them develop and get
ahead of the competition.

The 4 P’s are the factors to be considered in venturing into business namely the Product, Price,
Place and lastly is the Promotion. The product are the goods and services that the company intends to
offer. The price, on the other hand, is the amount of money to be paid by the customers. Place are the
company activities that makes the product available to customers. Finally, the promotion includes
activities that persuade the customers in buying the product.

The focus of this activity is to be able to determine the 4 P’s in our chosen businesses and be able
to compare and contrast their 4 P’s with each other. An interview was conducted as the method used in
gathering data where the sales personnel of the chosen businesses are going to be asked and interviewed.
Milktea is one of the favorites nowadays. Milktea is the product we chose to focus on especially the
wintermelon milktea. Thereafter, we select three various brands that offers the same product which is
milktea. Moreover, the three businesses that we interviewed were Tea ‘R us, Liyah Kaffea and Coco.

II. Findings

A. Tea ‘R Us

Tea R us is a milk tea shop that creates their own version of milktea and mango fruit
shake in a very affordable price. The branch in Pandacan, Manila opened last April 2019. The
distributor of their products came from Taiwan. They called their distributors as commissary
where they get the ingredients directly to them. The prices of their milktea products is the same
regardless of their flavors. Still, it depends on the sizes of a cup . If the size is small, it’ll cost
Php 40.00, medium size will cost you Php 50.00 and large size is amounting to Php 60.00.
According to our interviewee, their shop is primarily promoted through and by their customers
where they will talk and share to others about their shop and also by the use of Facebook. They
also have tarpaulin and banner in order for the customers to identify their shop.

B. Liyah Kkaffea

Wintermelon Milktea is Php 85.00 if it’s in Grande size (16 oz) or Php 95.00 if it’s in Venti size

III. Conclusion

Milktea becomes a very famous beverage that are loved not only by adults but also by the
kids as well. There are many various milktea shops in the Philippines. Different brands, different
promos offered, different tastes, different places, prices and strategies in promoting. However, all
milktea shops have one common goal not only to generate profit but also to satisfy the cravings
of their beloved customers in the milktea. Based on the interview we conducted on three
different milktea shops, we concluded that in terms of popularity, Coco got the highest since it is
located in malls followed by Liyah Kaffea and lastly is the Tea ‘R Us. In terms of price, Tea ‘R
Us, however, have the lowest amount of wintermelon milktea unlike the other two shops. In
terms of place, on the other hand, Coco has the most number of branches than the other two. In
terms of promotion, they actually have the same strategies in promoting their products to their
target consumers. This includes banners/tarpaulin and through the use of social media like
creating their own Facebook page.
