Research Design

Through using mixed method, the researchers will able to gather relevant and accurate

information and findings regarding the impact of Korean dramas among the Senior High school

Sampling Design This study used purposive sampling technique in determining the samples of

the study. According to Laerd Dissertation (2012), the main goal of purposive sampling is to

focus on particular characteristics of a population that are of interest, which will best enable you

to answer your research questions. Since the study focuses on the impacts of Korean dramas

among the Senior High School students of the Marinduque Midwest College, through purposive

sampling technique it will able to help the researchers find out the major impact of Korean

dramas and the factors that influence the Senior High school students to watch specifically the

students who are fund of watching Korean dramas.

Research Instruments A researcher-made questionnaire checklist was used in gathering data.

The questionnaires are consisted of items that determined the impact of Korean dramas among

Senior High School student of the Marinduque Midwest College. A closed and open ended

question was included in the questionnaires. According to Mcleod (2014), questionnaires

provide a relatively cheap, quick and efficient way of obtaining large amounts of information

from a large sample of people. It can be an effective means of measuring the behavior,

attitudes, preferences, opinions and intentions of relatively large numbers of subjects more

cheaply and quickly than other methods .Often a questionnaire uses both open and closed
questions to collect data. This is beneficial as it means both quantitative and qualitative data can

be obtained.

Data Collection In collection of the data, the researchers personally administered the

questionnaires to the respondents. They conferred and discussed the content of the

questionnaires before answering. In administering the questionnaires, the researcher uses the

time allotted for vacant to avoid distractions of class discussions. The student’s responses in

answering were given enough time. The primary data was personally obtained from the

respondents. The secondary data was obtained from the online resources, articles, published

and unpublished thesis. The draft of the questionnaires was drawn out based on the

researcher’s readings, previous studies, published and unpublished thesis relevant to the study
Statistical Treatment of Data After collecting the data needed, the researchers tabulated and

analyzed the gathered data with the help of statistical tools

This Study will use Quantitative Research Design specifically a

Descriptive type, Since It aims to report the effect of Korean Wave

Obsession on Student. It will going to use purposive sampling method,

wherein identifying who are those Korean Obsess Students are

necessary. This Research Study will have 139 participants, acquiring the

participants of the other related study entitled “The Influence of the

Korean Wave on the language of International fans: Case Study of

Algerian fans” since it is way similar to this study.

Context and Participants

This Research will be conducted inside the campus of Bukidnon

National High School, Located at Fortich Street Malaybalay City

Bukidnon. It was established and founded on year 1941 and was first

known before as Bukidnon Normal School. Such school is known for

being one of the top High school in Bukidnon and it continuosly provides

quality education for different kind of students from various part of

Bukidnon and even outside the said province with different cultural

background. As of now there were two extension school namely; Annex

Dalwangan and Annex Imbayao. It offers a lot of Programs for junior

high school there were, Special Program in Arts, Special Program in

Sports, Science curriculum, and more. While in the senior high; it offers

Academic Tracks comprising, General Academic Strand, Humanities and

Social Sciences, Accounting, Business and Management. And Technical-

Vocational track as well including cookery, ICT, Automotive, Agriculture

and Electronics. Aside from the above mentioned tracks it also offers Arts

and Design and Sports track. Currently catering almost 10,000 students

for both senior and junior high students. Moreover shifting of classes will

have to be implemented due to increase of population. Data gathering

will take place During first semester of School year: 2019-2O20.

The target respondents of this study are those Grade 12 Students

who are identified as Korean Wave Obsess. Respondents will be taken

from 22 section, without exact number of respondents per section as

long as they are identified as Korean Wave Obsess and does not exceeds

to our target number of participants which is 139, In which 70 are

females and 69 are males without due regards to the tracks that they

have taken, as well as to their age and social economic status, So that

datas will represented properly and gender biases will be avoided.
